Here's the young upstart Democratic-Socialist running for the New York District 14 seat in the US House of Representatives.

She just announced that the Press is not welcome at her town hall gatherings now, even though the events are open to the public.

Spoken like a true Socialist.  If I'd had her last few weeks of interviews, I'd be hiding from the press, too!   :rofl: :rofl:

She was in Hawaii last week campaigning for Kaniela Ing, another self-described Democrat Socialist. Ing lost to Ed Case, coming in 4th behind Doug Chin and Donna Mercado Kim.

Her success says less about DC and more about the destruction of the DNC.  With Keith Ellison (DNC Co-Chair) the target of domestic violence claims by a former girlfriend (who says she has actual evidence), it's just one more nail in the coffin for the party.

That is a pretty basic violation of the 1st amendment. You cannot stop the press from going anywhere that any member of public is free to go.

I say let her do her thing and when she fails it will be a lesson to remind people the problems with socialism.

Since she wasn't a member of the gov't when she made that request, there is no 1st Amendment violation.  Candidates have donor-only and invitation-only meetings without the press all the time.

If she is holding a true public event she cannot exclude the media because the media have the same rights to be in places any other citizen is allowed to be.  It is basic civil rights, that's why in all the video coverage of lefty protests you never see cops removing journalists from public spaces.
