It's not posed as "two arguments". It's an "if...then" proposition, with the second part being phrased as a question. The whole point being to indicate that the first assertion/"reasoning" is absurd/impractical/unrealistic/illogical, and thus anything following the "then", dependent on that (il)logic, to be equally absurd/impractical/unrealistic/illogical.

"Explaining" humor really takes something out of it...  :geekdanc:
