Since this is the politics section. I read the other day about and opinion of pursuing charges on a sitting president. That this nation would’ve been much better off if he (eta Clinton) and his administration would have focused on world issues, (eta instead of defending against Lewinsky and others). One of the issues stated was pursuit of OBL and not letting AQ and other groups grow. Now look at what they did.

If I recall correctly, that was Kav that shared the above opinion. I do see merit in that line of thinking. Obama’s eye wasn’t on bettering America or strengthening it. He did so much to divide and weaken and we’re still feeling the effects today. I do see that as something that is improving though.

The US is a declining power. As soon as we invaded Iraq we started the countdown to the end of our empire. It's all funded by funny money, backed by the rest of the world being forced to trade American dollars for oil. The BRICS are rushing to replace USD as world reserve currency and as soon as they do it's going to be one hell of a haircut. $20 a gallon of gas one day. $50 a gallon the following week.
How much fire can a ceasefire cease if a ceasefire never ceased fire?

I hope we have stopped or reversed the declining power trend. It might take s few more years to figure out if we have. But I can see that we have already slowed this trend tremendously.

We probably will never see BRICS replace the dollar. Not until those countries stabilize their economies and their currencies. The biggest reason why the dollar is the world’s currency in trade for oil and other markets is due to our stable economy and dollar. There are one or two other economies/currencies that are more stable than BRICS. If the dollar was ever replaced, BRICS would have a hard time replacing the dollar due to the other currencies. Both China and Russia (the two largest economies in BRICS) have unstable economies and are very easily disrupted as shown by Trump’s dealings with these two countries. Any country that can have their economy and currency turned upside down by the U.S. will never replace the dollar. I’m not saying it can never happen, but as the U.S. economy/dollar goes, so do the rest of the world. Even if the dollar becomes upended, whatever replaces it has to be immune from the effects. And in this world economy that pretty much is impossible. But I’ll never say it can’t happen.

If the dollar is ever replaced as the world’s trading currency the U.S. will probably fall into chaos and who knows what will happen after that.
