A new anti-rights phrase? "adequately retaining the right to bear arms" (Read 1795 times)

A new phrase ("adequately retaining the right to bear arms") we can expect to hear more of in the future? Dr. AWR Hawkins' brief article with link to the candidate's website for the full original quote. Of course she "supports the Second Amendment" AND is the "daughter of a police officer" AND "a lifelong gun owner" (oh, really, she owned a gun at two years of age, or eight, or even 13? So she'd be a criminal then, right?). I'm guessing she would allow people to "adequately retain" what, a six shot revolver in .22LR?

Democrat Katie Hill Admits She Wants to Mandate California Gun Control for All Americans

"Like we already have in California, I support a federal ban on assault weapons, high capacity magazines and bump stocks, as well as increasing waiting periods, raising the minimum age to purchase all weapons, and expanding our current background check system. These measures can have a significant impact on reducing gun violence, while also adequately retaining the right to bear arms." [emphasis added]

as long as you have a musket encased in cement with a pile of saltpeter, carcoal and sulfur (all separate of course) and ingot of lead you have adequately retained the right to bear arms to these people.  Though next year they will require the saltpeter loophole to be closed and require you to collect bat guano after obtaining a permit and 6 hours of bat handling courses.

Are you alleging that such requirements are anything other than "a few commonsense gun safety regulations" that still permit you to "adequately retain the right to bear arms"?
