Honolulu Firearms Range closed
« on: October 17, 2018, 09:27:07 AM »
They posted the range only was closed for renovations on their IG.  Didn't say how long either.

The mrs. and I were going to go this weekend to practice her IWB draw.  But I guess it will have to wait.

X-ring to expensive, far, and humbug (need to qualify for IWB draw).

I feel the pain of you guys who cannot just walk out into the backyard and fire off a few rounds and practicing live fire drawing from concealment, running to and firing from cover etc.  You all need to move to the Big Island to a gun friendly area like where I live and everybody just MYOB.

I was highly disappointed when I went to Arms Unlimited in Vegas last week to buy a rubber dummy.  One, it is more difficult to find than KGS, with no sign of any kind on the door.  Just a unit nbr125.  Glass windows and doors covered with gray paint.  Above the door handle is a postcard size sign that says “NO SALES TO PUBLIC.  LEO ONLY.  SHOW CREDENTIALS UPON ENTRY”. Couldn’t find any place else selling those.  They will mail order to none LEO, except to Hawaii.  Next time I will have my daughter order it and then get it from her on my next trip to Vegas.

At FS I saw at least 5 kids there, around 12 years old taking handgun classes and one kid carrying an AR15.  Train um young. Hope to take my 12 year old grandson the next time for handgun class.

I saw the rubber dummy's online that you could order via their IG page.  RubberDummies.com

I don't want to pay more for shipping than the item costs.  I already checked that out.  At $129, Arms Un.imited is quite a bit cheaper than any place else.  I hope to go back to Vegas in March.  I can wait.

I remember 1 time we won a huge pillow pet from Circus Circus.  Went to the office area in the hotels that use FedEx or UPS/ USPS and shipping was going to cost $400.  We spent $1 (ring toss) and won it.

So then I asked how much for an extra bag for Hawaiian Air.  They said $35.  So we got it home that way.  The only other option was to open the pillow pet and remove the stuffing and put it in our suitcase.  Then add the stuffing back when we got home.

Range is open again.  They greatly improved the ventilation system.

Do they allow AIWB holster draw? Last time I was there they did not but that might have been old management.

Last time I checked they did. This was 2 months ago.  I'm planning on going once I get my WML IWB holster in, to practice for Vegas.

X-ring also allows, but you have to take their CCW class first.
