Not news... been this way for years. Just sayin'... we reap what we sow, and we've sown "ainokea"... much to the delight of the socialist Democrat progressive collectivist statists, who, by no coincidence, want their subjects disarmed.

I personally don't know why Hawaii isn't run by the Libertarian party.
The Republicans here are out of it.
Democrats are run by unions and
oligarchs. I was a member of the longshoreman's
and I'll say the leaders are all nuts that should be shot on sight.
Yes we get the government that the minority votes for.
It is not going to change.  My child and grand child is back on the mainland.
It is a better place to live than here. My daughter shot a Deer
yesterday, with a rifle that is not registered.
I woun't live to see it, but it will be sweet when all the union pensions
goes bust, the Honolulu choo choo  goes bust,  and all your kids live
in Las Vegas as dealers and Hookers.
Aloha.

Perhaps this situation has something to do with residents in Hawaii who are cognizant of Hawaii's history.  For example, the overthrow and illegal annexation of Hawaii by the US and the racist political and business rule of the Republican loving "Big Five",  thereafter, might had something to do with Native Hawaiians as well as local residents not wanting to participate in a system that has caused so much pain and distress over the years.

Local people might be a little slow paced compared to Americans on the continent, but they have a strong memory.

Yes, I suspect they remember strongly, fondly and wistfully the days of kingdom law, as we see in the "Penal Code of the Hawaiian Islands", the penal code of the "kingdom of Hawaii" at https://www.hawaiiankingdom.org/penalcode/pdf/Penal_Code.pdf, and they must be rather disturbed about how far the current United States laws, under creation and implementation by Democrats, have violated theirs, such as 1. the illegality of abortion (except in the case of necessary to save the life of the mother), 2. the fact that there appears to be no mention of any right to keep and/or bear arms, and 3. the plethora of laws outlawing various sex acts by consenting adults including even cohabitation unless married. I could go on, but you get the idea. The illegal invaders have allowed things to slide a long way downhill since the halcyon days of the kingdom.

I vote but cant remember the last state level politician that I voted for who won.  Same here as in Oregon.  Every time I say "why do I bother."  Especially now when the republican controlled government has done nothing to restore gun rights.

I recently met one of our state legislators and it was as expected. they only cared about themselves and how important they thought they were.

Trump is a lot of people's last hope before they completely give up. It will be interesting to see what comes after him. I'm guessing the next few election cycles will see the Democrats dissolve and the Republicans continue to lose control. Hawaii is always last to the party for some reason though.
Stop blaming lazy people. We didn’t do anything.

Those laws were influenced by Christianity and Imperial Europe, so blame Jesus and the Crown.

Hawaiians used to be Republican,  i.e. Prince Jonah Kuhio.

The reason Hawaii is the liberal shithole it is is because of Asians from the wwii era; they formed the bulk of the movement during what transgressed following WWII with the labor strikes, and were the driving force behind the democrats obtaining and maintaining power since 1959.

Look up the Hawaii Democratic revolution of 1954.

So if you wanna blame someone,  blame the Asians

This is the exact reason why the legislature can try and get away with lying to get ConAm passed. And it is exactly why we need a ConCon in order to get what the taxpayers really want that the legislature won’t do.

Lucky we live Hawaii?

You can own a flame thrower
