The new civil war. First shots fired
« on: November 25, 2018, 07:51:29 PM »
The first shots were fired today in the next civil war. The border wars.

Although only rounds of tear gas I believe these rounds are the opening salvo of what will become a civil war. Just as slavery was used as a precursor for the last civil war, immigration will be the issue for this one.

Cival. Just like the cross breed holster thread (cross draw).

I doubt it will be a civil war, but def action. Because mexico will not go to war with the US. I dont see antifa helping the invaders either.

I hope a militia goes to the border to help if ROE is to lenient and our guys are getting hurt.

When I first heard the idea of a new civil war I felt the idea was quite plausible. But after further thought I don’t think a new civil war is even a close possibility. Here are my thoughts:

In order for a civil war to occur, there has to be a concentrated amount of citizens in a particular area who want to secede from the union. There might be a large amount of people who would like to secede but there are not a large enough amount in any one state that wants to secede. CA is the latest state to even foster the idea of secession. The ballot measure called Calexit never made it to the ballot for a vote. Meaning even in blue CA there are not enough people interested in seceding. So not even close at this point.

Our federal government and state governments economies are so intertwined that only a very small amount of states would benefit from losing all the federal funding that each state receives. CA in particular is considered a donor state but it receives $0.99 in federal funds for every dollar in taxes they pay to the federal government. What is not calculated is that a huge portion of the taxes paid to the IRS from CA taxpayers are from federal employees that would be removed from CA if they were to secede. Meaning the tax base coming into CA from the feds is larger than the taxes paid by those employees. Causing CA to lose more than they are paying. CA would lose financially if they were to secede. But the US would also lose too if CA were to secede financially. So I don’t think this is going to happen anytime soon.

The Internet and Social Media is a huge influence multiplier. Without these influences I doubt we would even be talking about this. It reminds me of the “War of the World’s” radio show where it sounded so realistic that everyone listening to the show panicked because they thought the US was being invaded and destroyed by aliens. It didn’t happen then and it is not happening now.

There are a myriad of other reasons why a civil war is not even close IMHO. These three things are just the big reasons and the main reasons why civil war is not even close to reality IMHO.

Slaves weren’t citizens, a civil war needs a rallying point to draw people into it, the last decade or so there has been many different things that have pumped up  By  the left the right and the media That could’ve overflowed into a physical confrontation that could have pushed the country in to a Civil War.

The left is pushing for immigration into the country by different groups of people with no checks or balances they believe that the country should let anybody in who wants to come in that’s an unsustainable system it would cause the collapse of America essentially. With these groups approaching the southern border and using force [Throwing rocks bottles etc.] the border patrol and/or the military Will be pushed into a situation where they will have to use chemicals, Physical force and possibly even lethal force us to stop them.

Even now the left is comparing these people to other situations and history which will wave at us for example comparing it to the Jews fleeing the Nazis. They will use this as a rallying cry to pump up that base. Then write scripts will use the same tactics as anTifa to promote physical violence which will then overflowed into possibly full combat

I would take what Cortez says with a grain of salt.

I'm waiting for conservatives to take the gloves off and go full steam against antifa.  Right now, majority of the time, antifa gets violent and the recipients do nothing.  #basedstickman

You missed it.  Rapture was in 1981.   :geekdanc:

Fun Fact:  Rapture was the first US #1 Hit to feature rap lyrics.

If we're discussing caucasian rap music... Joan Baez's "Time Rag" was 1977... but it never got close to #1.

Agreed. I think the closest thing we might see is armed conflict from far left and far right groups. Enough to kill hundreds or even thousands but nothing akin to a full civil war.
