"Restore Our Rights" video talk... call to action
« on: December 09, 2018, 08:28:18 AM »
The speaker discusses Young in the context of the loss of rights in California, before a group that supports the secession of part of northern California to form a new state (Jefferson). Most of his generic remarks about the loss of rights in California apply similarly to Hawaii. He makes a few minor errors in his discussion re Young, but mostly still on point. He's calling on people to get involved and take action. One has to wonder if such pleas are more effective there than here. He mentions that there are likely at least 7 million gun owners in California (out of approximately 25 million voting age people) and yet the state is almost totally Democrat ruled, with supermajorities in both chambers and every state executive and most judicial positions held by Democrats. Almost as bad as here. Had those 7 million voted, totally different outcome in the recent election, assuming the gun owners would vote for people who supported them exercising their rights (except of course that in California only the two top vote getters in the primaries get on the final ballot, and since those gun owners don't vote in significant enough numbers, many of the choices were between one Democrat and another Democrat, both of whom hate guns and the people who want to keep and bear them). I suspect the speaker is "preaching to the choir", and that the "apathetic" will not be inspired to get involved, but I still applaud him for trying.

I published this article on August 15th -> https://newsblaze.com/business/legal/why-are-the-gun-rights-lawyers-hiding-from-the-9th-circuit-open-carry-decision_136631/

A week later, Mr. Baird sent me an email.  Long story short, he stuck with it and finally found a lawyer.  I just received an email from Mr. Baird saying that, "Five other counties are scheduling town hall/ fundraisers."

I published this article on September 3rd after the various so-called gun-rights groups and lawyers  (cough* FPC/Chuck Michel *cough) said the Young v. Hawaii decision was not binding-> https://newsblaze.com/usnews/politics/professors-of-law-say-9th-circuit-open-carry-decision-is-now-the-law-young-v-hawaii-lawyer-says-it-isnt_138979/

To which the Nancy Boys at the NRA/CRPA responded with -> https://www.crpa.org/crpa-news/crpanews-alert-fighting-for-your-right-to-carry-in-ca/  Now they claim that it is not worth it.  Not surprising given that the NRA/CRPA opposes Open Carry.

It will be wonderful if Mr. Baird succeeds.  His success will be another light shown on cockroaches masquerading as gun-rights groups.

And before anyone asks, the only person on the planet who can't seek a TRO/Preliminary Injunction against California's Open Carry bans is me.  Just as the only person who can't seek a TRO/Preliminary Injunction against Hawaii's Open Carry ban is Mr. Young.

I'm glad you appreciated it. It's rather long, and I'm sure he'll infuriate the anti-open carry crowd (a large crowd) by citing the actual words from Heller and McDonald re concealed and open carry, but anyone who has a number of lengthy statements by the Founders committed to memory... well, there's a good chance they'll say something of value.
