Stossel/Lott Debunk media-wide claim U.S. leads world in mass shootings (Read 1992 times)

John Lott has already written extensively on the fraud of Lankford's study and Lankford's refusal to provide his data or sources to anyone. Here John Stossel provides a helping hand to Lott in producing a short video rebuttal and providing something closer to the truth. Since it violates a fundamental (fallacious) principle (more guns = more crime) of the anti-rights civilian disarmament liars you won't be hearing about this on any of the mainstream media outlets that blared the fake study by Lankford. That's how things work.

Hey, #62 in world ranking is almost the same as #1, so no biggie, right? Goddamn I hate these liars.   >:(

Saw this tweet today:

Quote

The Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) was established in 1961.
Today, the OECD is a forum of 34 industrialized countries that develops and promotes economic
and social policies.

The 34 OECD member countries are:
Australia,
Austria,
Belgium,
Canada,
Chile,
Czech Republic,
Denmark,
Estonia,
Finland,
France,
Germany,
Greece,
Hungary,
Iceland,
Ireland,
Israel,
Italy,
Japan,
Korea,
Luxembourg,
Mexico,
the Netherlands,
New Zealand,
Norway,
Poland,
Portugal,
Slovak Republic,
Slovenia,
Spain,
Sweden,
Switzerland,
Turkey,
the United Kingdom,
and the United States.

Several omissions jump out at me:  Russia, China and all of Central America.

There are 195 recognized countries in the world, 193 of which are UN members.  Singling out 34 of 195 countries (17%) to do a comparison with no logical qualifications as to why other than this list is the worst kind of "cherry picking".

BTW, many of the OECD countries are in Lott's list of higher mass shootings than the US from your link.

Issues are "mass.shootings" are 4 people or more. So drive by gang violence counts. I would say "active shootings" would be more accurate.

If we remove DC, chiraq, Baltimore and St. Louise, i think we drop a few hundred in the "mass shooting" table. All cities with strict gun control laws.
