Hawaii has 51% MORE Violent Crime than Permitless/Constitutional Carry Vermont (Read 2777 times)

According to the 2017 FBI Uniform Crime Reporting Program Hawaii has a 51% (yeah, FIFTY-ONE!) HIGHER violent crime rate than Vermont, where permitless (aka "constitutional") carry has ALWAYS been in effect, both open and concealed... no one in that state has EVER needed to get government approval to bear firearms outside their home... EVER. How can that be? (Given that idiots like Rhoads, Green, et al. and the former Hawaii supreme court judge claim the "wild west" will ensue if even a few people were "allowed" to carry here.) Remember, every single one of those victims of violent crime who was outside their home was disarmed by the state (under threat of imprisonment) and put at a distinct disadvantage by our "public servants".

https://ucr.fbi.gov/crime-in-the-u.s/2017/crime-in-the-u.s.-2017/topic-pages/tables/table-5

"The violent crime figures include the offenses of murder, rape (revised definition), robbery, and aggravated assault."

Rate = crimes per 100,000 population

Vermont   165.8
Hawaii      250.6

Thanks for the info.  I will use it for my anti 2a discussions.

Thanks for the info.  I will use it for my anti 2a discussions.
Please note that I am not claiming there is even an association/correlation, much less a causal relationship, between either the prevalence nor the strictness of carry outside the home policies and crime rates... I'll leave that to Dr. Lott, et al.

Just pointing out that if the claims of the statist civilian disarmament fascists were true about carry endangering public safety, especially to the degree they assert with terms like "wild west", that we wouldn't likely have the stats we see here, everything else being equal, which it isn't, which is why I leave it to Dr. Lott to make the much more statistically detailed arguments, which he does, so fuck the lying and/or ignorant scumbags.  :shaka:

Our friend who lives in my subdivision about 2.5 miles away, told us that her next door neighbor got stabbed in the chest Saturday night in his yard.  She heard screaming and yelling but was afraid to go out.  She lives alone and doesn’t have a gun or a big dog.  She only went out after she saw the police and ambulance there.

You missed the most important point. The person was stabbed and not shot.
As a rule, stabbings are more deadly than getting shot, it is certainly more personal.
As a state that values Asian and Micronesian values over "western values",
it makes sense to outlaw  western weapons(guns) and allow culturally OK
weapons such as sharp blades.  I for one don't go anywhere without a
knife.  Even my local court building allows me to "check" my knife before entering.
They'd soil themselves to "check" a gun.
