ok, people, here's what's up- these bills are not the responsibility of HRA/NRA/GOA/etc/etc/etc to STOP. it is up to US. the only thing that will stop them is to give legislators incentive to not hear or vote against the bills. lawmakers respond to two things- MONEY and VOTES. we need to testify against these bills when they are presented, but we can also hit them NOW. you can call/email/write the sponsors of the bills, and also the committee chairs that will be hearing them. the easiest way to reach ALL senators is sens@capitol.hawaii.gov and to reach ALL representatives in reps@capitol.hawaii.gov. we have been successful in the past getting bills stopped/amended even this early in the process. one last thing- do not get caught up in time-wasting thoughts like "it's unconstitutional" "if they get passed, we can sue" "we'll be grandfathered in" etc, etc, etc. these bills need to be stopped, and the only way to do it is to get all your friends and relatives and co-workers behind the effort. follow along on FB and www.2ahawaii.com and BE ACTIVE!

We need to spread the word among ALL firearms owners. I was at the pistol side today and was disappointed to hear the same old "I don't own any rifles so it shouldn't affect me". On the rifle side, almost every table had a semi auto rifle that would be affected by these bills.
These legislators have been taking our cake for decades with no sign of giving back any crumb. They will divide us so they can take every last crumb of our cake.
Tell everyone - gun owner or not that this is more about firearms - this is about depriving citizens rights in the name of safety, so that "we ought to do something" rhetoric. This blanket totalitarian gun grab is painting all of us as criminals. Despite our background checks into our personal medical record and inclusion into a federal database (which they make us pay for) we are treated as if we ALL committed a crime or are potential criminals. This is not Minority Report. We are law abiding, US citizens.

This is it folks. Like I said no sense dreaming about getting any more firearms, parts or ammo Forget about getting any kind of AR or AR accessory. Because if we don't stand for ourselves this time there won't be anything left except memories of what we once had.

25 years ago the legislature almost passed a handgun ban.  I'm sure a lot of rifle owners who didn't own handguns helped fight it.

HB1303 starts with banning the same threaded barrel one would use for a compensator.  HB1531 defines "Assault Shotguns".  Those haven't been an issue previously but now they are.  Again, why would the State stop at pistols?

The State already took the standard magazine away.  Does anyone honestly think they will stop?  For that matter, have they?  These proposed bills indicate not.

After threaded barrels will come calibers above .38, barrels longer than 4", frames made from polymers, magwells, extended mag releases, strikers, beaver tails, Trijicon's...

The attitude of "doesn't affect me" is exactly how all kinds of stupid crap ends up coming out of the Legislature.  Also keep in mind that when it finally does affect you, it's already too late.

I made up a few fast Powerpoint slides that I placed at the rifle side on Sunday. It was copied and pasted in a hurry as I was running late in the day. A few people saw it. Need more to go up at the shotgun and pistol side. Mike blessed off on it.

And if any pistol guys respond "i don't own a rifle", then ask them, once a rifle ban goes into effect, how long before pistols are targeted?

Ask the same thing of the "Fudds" with their shotguns and bolt guns that say they do not care about those nuts and their ARs.

"The law will not affect them."

What happens when they close Koko head because of lack of use?
What happens when the guns stores close because 90% of the firearms they sell are made illegal?

Not to mention a lot of their fancy bullseyes pistols are assault pistols under these laws.

this is what I have so far for the flyer
I tried to make it fit on 1 page.  it will look a little different on paper, bc wont let me attach a word document here.  heading is centered.  looks a little better on Word
lmk if you have any input

Save our semi-auto rifles!!!
The state of Hawaii needs your help to prevent our local legislators from banning semi-auto rifles.  All these bills will essentially ban all semi-auto rifles in Hawaii.  They all have passed their first readings already.  Don’t stand by and be a spectator while our second amendment rights are being stripped away.  Contact your legislators by phone, mail, email, etc.  We all need to be pro-active because our second amendment rights are being assaulted by our own politicians.  Contact them and tell everyone you know to do the same.  Don’t wait.  Do it now.  Keep doing it until these bills are dead.

The one benefit of such a huge flood of constitution killer bills is that it might actually bring Hawaii gun owners together, in spite of the best efforts of the backbiting narcissists in our ranks to push us apart.
If you allow government to break the law for an "emergency" they will create "emergencies" to break the law.

Pretty much every gun owner is probably effected by this.

Legislation should never be about depriving law abiding citizens of something, but rather taking those things away from criminals.

Pistol owners you are next. The ground work is already being layed in the news to turn the gun grabbers attention on you. I just emailed my senator( only took three minutes) we must all bug these people and let them know that we are watching and holding them accountable for this to work!
