My best buddy and I both have six year old girls...

Obviously they are growing up with us "gun nuts".... They wanted to learn and get involved....!!!

So we took them out to our "range"

After a good long leason of gun safety and basics, (trust me, a good one!)

Both girls got to start off with a Red Ryder...

Then, progressed to a "My First Rifle" Cricket .22...

Then to a Ruger 10-22...

At all times under under our stict control, proper eye, and ear protection...

What a blast! Both girls did very well and after a little a little guidance, hit the targets pretty consistently!

Can't wait to take them again!

My daughter is also 6 and the wife and I are having a huge debate on the proper age of when I can take her shooting.

I've started slow with allowing my daughter to handle my guns and be around during cleaning and reloading time.  Safety lessons are always worked in; a gun is always loaded, always keep the muzzle in a safe dierction, never put your finger on the trigger, never pick up a gun without supervision, etc. The big step is taking her to the range, which the wife is dead set against until 10.....don't know why she has that age set in her head.

I'm dying to buy my girl a pink 10/22!

My daughter wants one in purple.  She finally got to shoot her mom's pink CZ this past weekend and had a great time, but said should would've done better with a purple rifle.  Used to be just my wife and I shooting, now we got a 9 and 11 yr old reaching for ammo.  Its a great family sport/activity. Say safe and have fun.

Start 'em early.....the more you remove the mystery and the myths associated with firearms, the better off everyone will be. Besides that, it's FUN

Buddy's connection on private land... great to shoot... Only a couple people taking turns. Not a couple dozen!

Plus the kids are not intimidated by all the people and so much gun fire.

The "Cricket" .22 had a pink stock and pink bag... Girls loved it.

Hell, I shot it... Was like a Gorilla trying to fire a pea shooter ... but still a fun, cute little gun to teach the kiddies. Highly recommended!

Plus its real safe too, cuz besides working the bolt, it has a manual pull back that has to be "pulled" to fire. Great starter gun IMO.

My daughter is so gun "aware" now, that she even asks and alerts us to a toy gun laying around... Can't go wrong with that!

It's the kids that don't know, who can get in trouble....

Two things about this picture that caught my eye. First all the shell casings flying around makes me think she is firing it in FULL AUTO mode (see the safety position as well). And I notice all the peace symbols she has on her hoodie. Damn conservatives are training them young these days!!! 

Probably not a real photo, but seeing a little girl with a MP5K brings a smile to my face.

It is full auto, and yes it is real. Its from the Saddle Butte Machine Gun Shoot, May 19-20th in Shedd Oregon.

Why, oh why would anyone want to teach their impressionable young children to handle those terrible, evil guns??
