CA knocking on doors to consficate AR pistols
« on: February 14, 2019, 08:49:21 AM »
Seen some post about it, cannot 100% confirm, but looks pretty legit.  1 source is a gun store I follow on IG.

DOJ showing up in force to homes that people went online to register their non-featureless AR's.  And I guess you have to put barrel length.  So if you put anything less than 16 inches, they showing up in full gear at your home.

So people are commenting "why you register them anyways?"

Videos. No news articles yet

I'd rather have a bottle in front of me, than a frontal lobotomy.

Thanks for finding the vid.

My thoughts are:

1) Cop was some what cool.  "That's why we're not arresting you"
      a) He could have asked to see all the other stuff the guy made the mistake of registering.  He just went to confiscate what he was told to and didn't any more.
2) But will they come back later to arrest?
3) Will this guy be able to buy any guns in the future
4) He was some what being a smart ass and luckily, the cop in charge (guy talking) didn't go beyond what he was there for (See (a) above)
5) Notice how no other cop made any comments and left the speaking all to that 1 guy.

do you think people buying AR's today, here in Hawaii, know that potentially, their purchase might be deemed illegal in a couple months (HB1303, SB1334)?  would put a damper on sales if publicized, ya think?

Both bills died and so did HB1531.  But you never know when a politician might throw another one in the bunch.

Those bills died?  Wasn’t aware of that, great news!

are we sure about that?  Hawaii legislature webpage shows HB1303 status as referred to PVM, JUD, and SB1334 referred to PSM, JUD.  last status update 28 Jan.  and admittedly, I don't know where to go for the latest real-time info.

still in committee?  just looking for some kind of indicator before I can stop holding my breath on those.

although HIFICO spreadsheet shows HB1531 as being dead.

and like MACSAK says, HB1475 placeholder..."referred to JUD", not sure if there's a companion SB.

those last 2 bills need to be heard by tomorrow to continue, and the requirement is 48 hour notice of hearing
so unless the Leg does something heinous and unprecedented, those 2 are effectively dead

the short form/placeholder bill does not have a senate counterpart, yet is technically still alive

and remember, "gut and replace" is still possible in conference committee, which is outside of public comment

We still need to have a voice. They could have just passed it and we would have to spend money in court and time.
