Benchmade knives on firesale?

They helped OR PD destroy guns for various reasons since they had the equipment and posted it on IG.

Sell your stuff now. 2a community outraged on IG.

I understand why they helped, but they should know better and def not post it on IG.

Good evening,
We understand some of our followers are upset with Benchmade knives because of a recent post we put out. The post did not give everyone the full story on why the guns were required to be destroyed.
We receive guns that are turned in from community members that they no longer want the guns and want them destroyed. We also have guns that are evidence and when a case is adjudicated the guns are ordered by the court to be destroyed.
These guns were required to be destroyed. We reached out to Benchmade to do us a favor at our request. Benchmade is a strong supporter of law enforcement and the Oregon City community. We were present when the guns were cut and we took them for final destruction.
We apologize for not informing everyone on the initial post.Benchmade is an excellent company and we urge everyone that had said they no longer support Benchmade to reconsider once they have all the information. Again, we apologize for not informing everyone with our recent post.
Respectfully,
Chief Jim Band and Mayor Dan Holladay

I had to remind myself what they made so visited their website.

Autoplaying multi-media automatically (heh) got them placed into "Do Not Buy" status for me.

Seriously though, I haven't purchased their stuff from a while back.  This company has wronged more than a few people.  I kinda wished they would've been gone by now.

Yes, we should all get rid of our benchmade knives. Send them to me and I will dispose them appropriately ;)

I have several Benchmade knives.  They are quality stuff, far better than Kershaw.  I will keep what I have.  Can't afford to spend money on knives right now anyway.  I already have far more than I need.

So peeps are gonna start posting videos of them blowing up their Benchmade knives like they did their Yeti coolers?

This made me read up about the dustup between NRA and Yeti.  Seems like a misunderstanding and now that it went viral, both sides doing CYA PR stuff.  Who knows what's what anymore.  Anyways, the crappy part with all of that was the rush to judgement. . .

Its easy to get worked up things like this and companies that flaunt their support for ANTI-GUN activities should be called out and boycotted IMHO, .. HOWEVER, in reading Benchmade's statement regarding this situation, it truly seems they got caught up in the middle of both sides here. Hardly malicious on Benchmade's end unlike that one company who shall remain nameless that sells "Gucci" firearm accessories and drum magazines only for their owner to be open to ANTI-GUN legislation.

And no I don't own a single Benchmade product.

On a side note, that "7.62x39rifle" Instagram account is HILARIOUS.

I never bought their stuff anyways due to the price, I prefer CRKT.  But in this day and age where the 2a is under constant attack, this was an unwise move to have the ORPD post about it.  They should have just helped and got no attention for it.

But if they were going on fire sale, I might pick some up.

No one is coming, it’s up to us.

Legislation should never be about depriving law abiding citizens of something, but rather taking those things away from criminals.

SureFire also, but for them, I know it was more the lesser of 2 evils.

IIRC 1 DNC senator Benchmade donated to has a B rating with the NRA.

A lot better than our F- HI legislators.  We have real losers, in matters other than gun control too.

That's why not all DNC senators are bad.  WA/OR are democrat controlled, but have more gun rights than us and always have.  They have shall issue CCW.  I know WA has open carry and issue CCW's to non-residents that are for WA only.  No mag restrictions either.

But as the more left liberal politics take hold in the purple states, the gun controls are becoming more restrictive and farther reaching.  The Shall-Issue may not change for quite some time in those places, but the mag restrictions and "assault-weapon" bans will creep in. i lived in Nevada for 20 years and watched it go from Clark County registration of handguns to no requirement (a great day), but now with the liberal politics taking over the state legislature, Sisolak just signed the new and improved background check bill that only affects law abiding citizens and they are pushing on mag restrictions and assault weapon restrictions "for the children". California and Northeast folks moved to Vegas for the freedom and economic booms but brought their politics with them. I always laughed at them when they complained about how restrictive and burdensome those places they came from were, but then pushed for, voted for and championed the same policies when brought up in Vegas. People said in would never happen, yet there they are. I used to listen to Glen Beck and Jerry Doyle and they would talk about Cass Sunstein and his book (and theology) "Nudge". Creeping incrementalism is the death knell of society.

The fact people have to make a bunch excuses, is enough evidence for me.  If they didn't have a political motive, then they should have helped out quietly.  The fact its plastered all on the net, its a statement.   Donation to anti gun politicians,  inexcusable no matter the tangent circumstance.
