The fact people have to make a bunch excuses, is enough evidence for me.  If they didn't have a political motive, then they should have helped out quietly.  The fact its plastered all on the net, its a statement.   Donation to anti gun politicians,  inexcusable no matter the tangent circumstance.
I was reading about the donation thing. Many Oregon folks totally bashing them, but some saying some of them look anti-gun in surface, but for stuff like CCwW and others. My point was to avoid knee jerk reaction.

Personally, I have a few Benchmades, but haven’t considered them in a while, and don’t plant to get another any time soon. Plenty of other brands to choose from. I do think they’ll feel the effects of this for a while.

Heard from a friend who lives in West Linn (near Benchmade HQ). His unconfirmed story was a local family turned over the collection of guns to the local PD to be destroyed.

Oregon is pretty blue right now and has had some strict anti-gun legislation passed recently. There seems to be a decent pro-2A community where my buddy lives, but but like Seattle, he’s telling my the urban core is Uber-liberal and sways things. Sounds like CA transplants forcing change.

Ahh. Sad...

But as the more left liberal politics take hold in the purple states, the gun controls are becoming more restrictive and farther reaching.  The Shall-Issue may not change for quite some time in those places, but the mag restrictions and "assault-weapon" bans will creep in. i lived in Nevada for 20 years and watched it go from Clark County registration of handguns to no requirement (a great day), but now with the liberal politics taking over the state legislature, Sisolak just signed the new and improved background check bill that only affects law abiding citizens and they are pushing on mag restrictions and assault weapon restrictions "for the children". California and Northeast folks moved to Vegas for the freedom and economic booms but brought their politics with them. I always laughed at them when they complained about how restrictive and burdensome those places they came from were, but then pushed for, voted for and championed the same policies when brought up in Vegas. People said in would never happen, yet there they are. I used to listen to Glen Beck and Jerry Doyle and they would talk about Cass Sunstein and his book (and theology) "Nudge". Creeping incrementalism is the death knell of society.

Was thinking of retiring to Vegas in about 20 years or so.  But now we have to see how things go first.  Can always rely on good ole Texas I guess.

Don't know if I'd move back. Still have my house there so it'd be cheap living but the politics may make me rethink it. I too may be like Davy Crockett and say to hell with you I'm going to Texas.

I've got about 20 years too before I could retire, so I've got time to work it out

Dunno, if things keep going the way they are going, the leftists will have made popular vote a reality, and only the big cities, filled with leftist zombies, will rule everything.  Texas is getting bad as well..

Best friend moved to OR decades ago to escape the Kalif cesspool.

He was fine for a good while , the latest Portland controlled politics are driving him and much ot the rest of the state crazy.

Same tune as too many states: Major urban swamps control everyone else.

Going to be a major breakdown before long.  no way will some of the open country willingly submit.

Many will of course, as long as the TV keeps working....
