it was a great day today with HiFiCo
there were 35-40 of us (maybe more) from all segments of the firearms community
my group met with staffers from more than a few senators and representatives, spreading the word about our support for the 1st and 2nd Amendments (and the rest of the Constitution/Bill of Rights)
it was great to gather with like minded people and work together to educate our lawmakers and their staff

Props to HiFiCo for organizing the rally and informational tables (LIFE, Puuloa Club, HiFiCo, and Game Management Advisory Commission)
and for lunch/drinks!

It was well worth attending. I got to meet a lot of folks who I recognized KHSC.  The HiFiCo guys kept things moving and engaging.  It was great to see people get involved and nice to know that I’m not the only concerned gun owner.

Note to introverts!  If you just wanted to show up and be counted you wouldn’t have felt put on the spot. Nobody expected you to have the perfect argument for gun rights, legislators offices were polite, and other than a little hand shaking and periodically getting asked what your favorite caliber is you could lay low.

I also found the furnished snacks to be acceptable. The turkey rolls had regular cream cheese instead of the strawberry flavor, which I’ve always taken a dim view on.

5/5 stars, everyone was great. I’ll do my best to show up at the next event with some coworkers.

nice report
and yeah, the groups were led by people who were more experienced, and we encouraged people to speak up, but you are not expected to be addressing the crowd or legislators/staffers

A big MAHALO to everyone who went yesterday and stood up and spread the word for the rest of us. You all deserve more applause than we can give.

Event was successful and we met our goals.  Met our goal of 20 to 40 people, got people active and educated, educated legislators and their staff, and showed the legislature that we are becoming united.

Everything went according to plan and everyone enjoyed the time there.  There was a march to visit Honolulu Hale and toured the capitol and Governor's office, then broke off into small groups visiting the Public Safety and Judiciary committee members offices.  Groups were able to talk to the legislators and staff about gun experiences and the bills up for hearings and everything stayed positive.  On the fourth floor, we had display tables for the Puuloa Club, Game Management Advisory Commission, HIFICO, and LIFE where a few legislators came by to visit.  Also in attendance were the gang from HDF, Danger Close Tactical, action shooters, and KM Concepts among others.  Also had a member from the Democratic Party supporting us.  London808 also got the opportunity to drop off 1,300 pages of testimony to Rhoads office.  Wish I was there to see the look on the clerks face.

Thanks again to everyone that participated and helped.  We're planning a much larger event for 2020.

And thanks to Rep Sam Kong for sponsoring us at the Capitol.

Had a great time. Great to see everyone. Sorry I had to leave early. If more people are expected, perhaps ask them to unlock the first floor stairs door so we don't have to overburden the elevator.
