floor vote FIRE MISSION

GOOD MORNING HAWAII.
All bills must pass through, Senate committees, house committees, senate votes and house votes, before they go to the governor to be signed into law.
Bills have moved through the first set of committees and are now moving onto the floor for their first vote. What this means is that the entire house and senate get to vote on bills before they cross over (move to the other chamber) to go through the committee process again.
So now the opportunity for you to contact your legislators directly to let them know how you would like them to vote on the floor.
Now this process is a little involved and requires a few different e-mails. We have set up a page on our website as a quick how to.
You can visit it at https://hifico.org/floor/
We understand the process is a little more complicated then filling out the web forms. But this is the time when you need to connect directly with your legislators. Let them know you support the second amendment and that you expect them to represent your views as a constituent and voter.

my name is XXX XXX. I live in XXX, and am a XXX in XXX. I am a First and Second Amenedment supporter (along with the rest of the Constitution/Bill of Rights). I STRONGLY OPPOSE SB600. Our young men and women in the military are able to handle firearms at 18, but they cannot bring their personal firearms with them when they are assigned to Hawaii? I STRONGLY OPPOSE SB621. As a safe and responsible gun owner, I understand that stolen or lost firearms must be reported, but I DO NOT AGREE that someone should be punished criminally for not reporting. I STRONGLY OPPOSE SB1466. this bill violates due process, and enables anyone to be able to make a complaint against anyone they are associated with and get their firearms removed using a civil standard (preponderance of the evidence- 51%). the TRO system is already in place, we do not need another system that will remove people's right to a fair, prompt hearing, and deny their right to face their accuser.
please vote AGAINST these measures when they come up for a floor vote.

mahalo for your time-

To the Senators of the State of Hawaii.

Coming before you for consideration are three bills that we would like you to vote NO on.
The three bills in question are: SB600, SB621, SB1466. All these bills are in relation to firearms.

We would like for you to not only vote based on the merit of the bills, but also on the process of how they were handled in committee.

As some of you may be aware, a very large number of testimonies that were submitted for these bills was not seen by the committee members prior to the hearing. A vote was taken by the committee without hearing the voice of the people. As elected representatives, the committee members should be voting based on the will of the people of Hawaii. If the actions of one or more people stopped the voices of the people from being heard in the correct manor, we believe that the bills should not be passed until such time that it is.

We would also like to point out that most of the testimonies submitted are in opposition of these bills passing. We would like to request that before heading to the floor to vote, you, the Legislators, take the time to read through some of the heartfelt and in-depth voices that were submitted. These bills will have a lasting effect on all our communities and are therefore, of great concern to many of your constituents.

We thank you for your time and consideration. If you require any further information or have questions or comments, please feel free to reach out to us.

Anyone know why they deferred SB600 until the 5th?

3/1/2019   S   Deferred until 03-05-19.

SB621 SD1

2/22/2019   S   The committee(s) on JDC recommend(s) that the measure be PASSED, UNAMENDED. The votes in JDC were as follows: 4 Aye(s): Senator(s) K. Rhoads, Gabbard, Kim; Aye(s) with reservations: Senator(s) Wakai ; 0 No(es): none; and 1 Excused: Senator(s) Fevella.

[Not yet assigned to a floor vote.]

SB1466 SD2

2/28/2019   S   48 Hrs. Notice 03-05-19.

So those two will be up for floor vote on the 5th (Tuesday)... might want to email all the senators, or at least "yours", just prior to that...
