New Kauai police chief

Just saw on the news that the new Kauai police chief is from Las Vegas.  Perhaps he is more open minded when it comes to CC permits? Or maybe he will continue to have the same attitudes as the current regime of police chiefs.

On a side note, I commend those of you who actively and continually fight for our (limited) 2A rights. Some days when I see/read  anything gun related and the anti gun views of the morons in power in our increasingly communist state it frustrates me to no end.

The sad thing is that so few people are frustrated, angered and/or outraged enough speak out and/or take whatever actions to challenge the socialist Democrat bureaucracy and educate more people to help those people see how they are being screwed out of their rights (and money) by the socialist policies in all areas under government control.

He came from Metro after 27 years there. He will be much better and agreeable to 2A friendly folks. If he was from the "City of Las Vegas" it would be different. They are not friendly to 2A. But as stated before, its the government system that keeps Hawaii anti-2A
I'd rather have a bottle in front of me, than a frontal lobotomy.

If he started issuing permits and nothing, meaning no "Wild West" shootouts with blood running on the streets happened, instead of embracing 2A, I bet the local politicians will look for a way to fire him.

I suspect that at some point in his application/interview process he was made well aware that carrying by ordinary law-abiding citizens is a no-no, and as a condition of his being hired to not even think about it.

Hopefully someone on Kauai will put him to the test immediately.

Kauai PD has always been by far the most honest and forthcoming re my various UIPA requests on various issues. They even gave me (barely redacted) copies of the two CCW licenses they issued in 2006 and 2013, in which the names were NOT redacted... even after I had specifically made a point of emphasizing that I did NOT seek the names of the licensees!

Maybe there'll be some movement there. Let's hope so.

Vegas has not banned bump stocks or mag limits
Vegas has permitless OC and shall issue ccw
Vegas has supressors and SBRs
Spoke to a bunch of Metro and all I spoke to think no ccw is crazy (in person and on the phone)
Vegas is a purple state (blue/red)

So if he denies any ccw permits, its 100% political.

When I bought a rifle and pistol in Vegas in 2013, there was a 3 day waiting period and a registration card. In 2015, they got rid of the registration card but now things are swinging in the other (wrong) direction.

A out of state resident can no longer purchase a handgun in NV or any state other than their resident state if buying from a dealer, unless it is going to be sent to their FFL.
