What a pile of bullshit.

They ban (bullshit "buyback") "...“military-style semiautomatics” — defined as semiautomatic guns capable of being used with a detachable magazine that holds more than five cartridges."

So they essentially made a carve out for revolvers and bolt action long guns and .22s... well, except for the cops of course, who get to keep whatever they want.

Not one single person in their entire 123 person legislating body objects... except the lone libertarian and he only objects on grounds of doing it too quickly... what a fucking joke of a country full of sheep.

And Bernie's on board with praise! All hail Bernie! Fucking asshole.

This kind o' shit make me sick...

News coverage this morning picked up on that this measure has support from opposition that “it’s obvious the general population supports it”. Well, they can get arrested for public posting opposition views, so...

Which is EXACTLY what he wanted to happen on his manifesto.  Same thing happened after Port Arthur.  Sad.
No one is coming, it’s up to us.

Legislation should never be about depriving law abiding citizens of something, but rather taking those things away from criminals.

Update too. its coming out that the police who granted him his license to legally go buy all these guns didnt vet him properly. They never had face to face meetings with his referees and infact they were two guys he had meet in chat rooms. Thats seriously sloppy work. Also its coming out that at the time he got his license  Jacinda Adern the p.m had cut police resources in the fire arms area.  She had diluted the laws.   He basically come into nz and was given a license over the internet. I hope the victims sue the shit out of the government.

You guys should read the facebook comments on the articles posted locally (KITV,KHON, etc...)

Maybe 1 of 8 who are anti 2a and the rest do not support the ban.  Are Hawaii residents becoming more pro 2A?

Funniest comment "XXX you're FB profile says "local", so I assume you've been here for 8 years and started to call yourself local, take your CA commie agenda to another state".

[Read as if said by Bruce Willis as John McLane in Die Hard]: I think you're a little late to the party, pal... that happened a long time ago.

the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself.
Therefore, all progress depends on the unreasonable man.

Here's how the ban/ "compensated confiscation" is unfolding thus far...

"While some American politicians lauded New Zealand’s policy as a success, the people of New Zealand were less enthusiastic, turning over just 37 of the estimated 1.2 million guns in the first days of the program. They have until September 30 before owning the outlawed weapons becomes a crime. As of April 10, only 300 weapons had been turned over."

I'm guessing the people there are just lazy and haven't gotten around to it and by September 30 all 1.2 million will have been turned in... right?
