Best option to buy gun safe?
« on: March 26, 2019, 08:15:48 AM »
I'm looking to get a bigger safe, the old can't handle anymore.   Is there anywhere local that brings in quality safes or do I have to take it in arse and pay ridiculous freight charges?

Thanks for your time. 👍

My local ACE Hardware on the big island had a liberty safe in stock yesterday.  I was a bit taken back that they had a good quality safe in stock.

Security Equipment and from time to time X-Ring Security would be good places to look for a gun safe.

You should provide a relative size you're looking for.

I saw some new safes at the front area at Waipio Costco a few days ago for about $500.

I think it was this one, but don't take that as gospel:

American Machinery has large gun safes in stock.

Whoa! No doubt they make some great safes.

That actually looks like the same size I have now.  I'm starting to think instead of getting a bigger safe, maybe just get another of the same, guess that works too.  Maybe I'll wander down to Costco and see if they have that still.  Thanks!

Thanks for all the info people!  :shaka:

If you have room for another, having more than one safe is not a bad option.

You can split up guns by access -- maybe have .22's for younger shooters in one where they have the combo, and your big boy toys in another with limited access.

Or put defensive guns in both safes, placed in opposite ends of the house or different floors.

Two safes also makes it harder for burglars to get all your valuables, too.

I would like another slightly smaller one for my airguns.  They take up too much room and are mostly in the safe for environmental reasons.
