I just sent Ige my opposition testimony as submitted to the various committees and asking him to veto SB1466. A useless gesture, no doubt, but it certainly wouldn't hurt anything if all who oppose(d) it sent him another email voicing their concerns. I'm still dreaming (and know full well that it's a dream) of the day when Ige and all his fellow socialists will be on trial and all our pleas will be entered as evidence against him so he and the other traitors can't argue "we didn't know... no one spoke out against our "benevolent" dictatorship, etc.".

I just tried to read the most recent version and only see family or household member.  No doctor, teacher, coworker listed.

But they do include "dating" as a definition of family.

Or am I reading this wrong?

SB1466 HD2 most recent version

https://www.capitol.hawaii.gov/session2019/bills/SB1466_HD2_.htm

The purpose of this Act is to reduce gun deaths and injuries in the State by establishing a detailed process that allows a law enforcement officer, family or household member, medical professional, educator, or colleague to obtain a court order to prevent a person from accessing firearms and ammunition if the person poses a danger of causing bodily injury to the person or another.

And we all know, a mentally ill person who has no firearms of their own can't possibly "access" a firearm illegally.

Sandy Hook is a great example of the extreme acts someone determined to do harm might commit to "access" firearms belonging to another -- he killed his mother and accessed her gun safe.

so, I guess, the looming inevitability of living in a Red Flag state.

kinda makes you want to keep the fact of being a gun owner a secret, from family, neighbors, 'cause you just don't know who's going to get squirrelly and call it in, huh?  a dirty little secret, almost in the same category as pervs and flashers.  especially since the whole damn state is so anti-Trump, pro-Hillary, and FBHO is revered as a god right next to Jesus

We live in a country -- not just a state -- that makes it prudent to keep EVERYTHING to yourself that others don't have a real need to know.  That means a need that YOU decide exists.

People have been targeted and reported as dangerous, brandishing, threatening, and so on because the reporting party knew, or had a good idea, that the person they reported has guns.

A road rage instigator falsely reported the other car's driver for pointing his gun at him.  How did he know he had a gun?  Maybe that NRA or AR-15 sticker in the back window.  Maybe he had nothing more than a 50.1% chance of guessing right based on demographic and the number of CCW licenses issued in his state.  Regardless, the report was false, but proving so is difficult without video.

A man was competing with a woman for the same promotion.  She kept calling his autistic son "retarded." The man finally yelled at her after repeated requests and asked her to never use that word about his son again.  She then filed a complaint that he'd threatened to bring his guns to work and shoot her.  He was arrested, fired, and spent his savings on lawyers.  Finally, she recanted, but the damage was done.  She also got his promotion.  He then had to hire another lawyer to sue her for the false allegations and the damage it did to his life.

Basically, no matter what the information entails -- guns, Las Vegas trips, etc -- it's getting so you can't trust anyone with your personal info.  They may seem trustworthy now, but things change in an instant.

Ever wonder why the news always reports, "Neighbors say he was a quiet man who kept to himself?"

OPSEC.

OPSEC.
A certain old lesbian that posts on the local liberal rag hates the NRA and firearm owners.  Same one that declared a desire to bury shooters in the landfill should the range get built, organizes massive women marches, etc.

I have NEVER claimed on that forum to own guns.  Do defend the NRA/2A on occasion.  This old dyke repeatedly claims I am "amassing" an arsenal, have threatened to bomb her P.O. box, etc.  Clearly trying to get HPD attention.  She has no idea who I am, so I am fairly sure I cannot sue her for slander, but her desire to focus attention on me by police is transparent.

She would call in a SWATTING in an instant if she knew who i was.

OPSEC indeed with liberals about.

so the photo op signing indicates it's a done deal, between Kermit, Big Head, and MDA.  we're fooked.

I wonder when, who will be the first Hawaii victim.  SWAT rollout at 4am, followed by hyped media coverage about how successful the new law is, high-fives all around, everybody patting themselves on the back for "job well done", a mass shooting prevented.  or suicide averted, of course the victim is going "huh wut? WTF?  who dafuq?"  court records sealed.

Big Head and his MDA groupies going "one down, who can we SWAT next...", we got to keep the momentum going, show the rest of the nation how it's done.

They should change their name to Moms Demand Confiscation. That's their true agenda. This past session was a slew of anti-gun laws. We were trying to put out fires here and there. Then this one got past us.
There's no hiding from it. They want to confiscate.
