I guess no one there was carrying because OR is  a shall issue state.  Or the chainsaw wasn't on, so not really much of a threat compared to it being on.

I can see someone bringing a loud, gas-powered chainsaw or even a dirt bike to rev the engine and just cause disruptive, annoying noise.

Chances are, he/she/they/it didn't know how you even start it up since they've never used one before to actually do work.
The reasonable man adapts himself to the world;
the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself.
Therefore, all progress depends on the unreasonable man.

They bring whisltes, bull horn, and just flat out scream to cause a loud noise.

But of course conservatives are the crazy ones.

You dont un-holster a firearm in Portland until after you are seriously injured.  Portland prosecutors like to make examples out of gun owners.

Michael Strickland was at a Black Lives Matters riot in 2017 taking video.  He was approached by several protesters because he was filming.   While backing up he unholstered his firearm and without his finger on the trigger he continued the back up and then re-holstered a few seconds later.  This was the result:

"On February 10, 2017, Strickland was found guilty of all 21 counts: 10 counts of unlawful use of a weapon, 10 counts of menacing, and one count of disorderly conduct. He was sentenced to 40 days in jail, 240 hours of community service, banned from taking video of people or events for at least 2017, and is also banned from owning guns."

All that for just unholstering a firearm in Portland for 30 seconds.

Nothing happened to any of the people coming at him of course.

I saw that video a while ago,  But the difference would be if someone has a chainsaw running that can be used as a weapon and is within arms reach and coming at me.  Of course the best option is to retreat.  Strickland did back up a little bit, but he could have turned and walked/ran away faster.  He seemed to be standing his ground more and drew against people who have no weapon, but were yelling at him.  Gotta know the state law if you choose to carry and articulate why you drew your firearm.

This actually went on way longer than the few seconds the vid showed, but I can't find it on youtube (surprised?). It was on the turning point IG, but  not anymore.

Some are starting to say that social media censorship is the modern day book burning.

I know the laws all to well and its why I avoided downtown like the plague and eventually left.  If I was on that jury I would totally nullify.  Pulling a gun and not hurting anyone does not justify 21 counts, not considering what they let the rioters get away with.  Remember he was also attacked by an antigunner who broke his arm before this and the assailant did not do any time at all.  Yes, he was in a role of his choosing that required unnecessary risks but Portland still made an example of him.

the get out of jail card is anything "F*ck Trump", "pro choice", "ban guns" so if those protestors were on that side of the coin or related, they are OK. They guy protecting himself - nope.

Amazes me that they're still shall issue CCW.  You would think by now they would have changed that. At least a mag limit.
