I guess no one there was carrying because OR is a shall issue state. Or the chainsaw wasn't on, so not really much of a threat compared to it being on.
You dont un-holster a firearm in Portland until
after you are seriously injured. Portland prosecutors like to make examples out of gun owners.
Michael Strickland was at a Black Lives Matters riot in 2017 taking video. He was approached by several protesters because he was filming. While backing up he unholstered his firearm and without his finger on the trigger he continued the back up and then re-holstered a few seconds later. This was the result:
"On February 10, 2017, Strickland was found guilty of all 21 counts: 10 counts of unlawful use of a weapon, 10 counts of menacing, and one count of disorderly conduct. He was sentenced to 40 days in jail, 240 hours of community service, banned from taking video of people or events for at least 2017, and is also banned from owning guns."
All that for just unholstering a firearm in Portland for 30 seconds.
Nothing happened to any of the people coming at him of course.
