Nevada Showdown - State Legislature v County Sheriffs

It's only wishful thinking that Hawaii's police chiefs would stand up for our rights  :(

"...all 17 counties, including Clark County Sheriff Lombardo have signed a statement objecting to SB143. Now the elected sheriffs of Nevada are on a collision course with the State. The sheriffs could not be more clear about their position on SB143 in their  statement “The Sheriffs of the State of Nevada do not believe that the answer to this issue includes making criminals out of otherwise law-abiding citizens. As the old saying goes, “When guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns.” The statement ends with “We as Nevada Sheriffs support The Right to Bear Arms, and we will do all within our power to uphold and defend its principles.”..."

Side note - what's the scoop with the the new Kaua'i Chief and issuance of CCW or OC permits seeing how he came from Metro?
I'd rather have a bottle in front of me, than a frontal lobotomy.

Something I'm looking into.  A gun rights friendly mayor with a possibly CCW friendly chief.  Not sure if it would affect the Young or Livingston cases if Kauai started issuing permits.  And those permits would only be valid on the island of Kauai.

If there are permits issued it's a plus. Don't know or think it would affect the case as it is county specific.

One of the State's argument is the counties are free to issue permits.  Seems like they were urging the counties to issue some permits in a desperation attemp so they could claim it wasn't a total ban on CCW or open carry wasn't just for security guards.

Thats like over-watering and dumping fertilizer all over your garden after not doing anything it for 10 years to show that you're taking care of it when the HOA shows up to ensure you're taking care of the property.

Sounds like Nevada wants to turn red again, despite the influx of CA residents.

Good for their sheriffs having the balls to stand up to law makers.  Can't say the same for HPD here.
