1903A3 problems
« on: May 14, 2012, 09:53:34 PM »
I have a Remmy 1903A3 that chambers the first round then ejects it, the problem is when I start too push the bolt foward for the second round it fails to feed it.  It seems that the round gets stuck not allowing it to move up.  I think it may have to do with the spring that moves the internal mag up.  Anyone had this problem before?

Not knowing how familiar you are with the 1903 platform, do you have the magazine cutoff engaged?

[edited to add actually useful information]

Here is a picture of the cutoff switch.  When it is the ON position, the rifle feeds from the magazine.  When it is in the OFF position, the rifle operates as a single-shot, regardless of whether or not ammo is in the magazine.

No worries!

Glad it wasn't something awry in your rifle.
