I never said 10 rounds is enough. I don't agree with the laws but again, we are not in distress. I am happy. I wouldn't be happy if everything in my life I felt was "distressed". "MY chance" ? Again, I live in a country of freedom. I don't have to do jack shit that I don't want to do. I'll tell all those pro 2A organizations good job

Well the strict gun laws in Hawaii affects gun owners differently.  I doubt Zippz, the HRA, or the HDF feel as optimistic as you with the way gun control has and still continues to move forward on all fronts.  Such attitudes such as yours does not do justice to the time and sacrifices distressed 2nd Amendment supporters have gone through in this ongoing struggle.

Yeah, enjoy your Popeyes Chicken.

That's your opinion.

Guess what, the gun show is coming up so here's your chance to go to the booths and people there and tell them they should not be in distress, but happy as hell not having standard capacity magazines.  According to you, 10rds is good enough.

You have nothing BUT opinions.  So, why is that even a valid comment about others?

In your life, there are only 2 options:  DISTRESS and HAPPY AS HELL.  Sounds like manic depression to me.

Must be rough to be distressed every single day that you aren't taking your meds happy as hell.

If you know nothing of me, it is very arrogant to presume anything about my personal life.

However your negative personal comments on my person can be said the same of your admiration of former President Obama and being blind to the DISTRESS and PLIGHT of many 2nd Amendment supporters, which fuels their persevering and unending fight against gun control.

Why do you equate a nation in distress from a purely an economical/financial perspective?
Just because a few Hawaiians had the means to acquire and dress up their vehicle the way they like it does not mean their nation is not in distress.  Need I remind you that Hawaiians are almost at the bottom of every socio-economic metric in Hawaii.
====================
Anyway, getting back to topic…
The post that got crashed yesterday was basically an essay about the fact that neither the state nor federal government is going to roll over and play dead while Hawaiian activists take over 8 million acres of land. As far as I can see, nobody amongst the activists have a clue how to manage 8 million acres of land.

The rest of the post described how useless protesting with signs and flags are. Those people are much better off going back to school and working rather than spending precious time and money on air fare and camping gear. Even that illegal shack must have cost somebody some big bucks for materials….and for what? That shack could have been built on a lot to house some real people in distress, such as domestic abuse victims or victims of unfortunate tragedies. (eg.fires, floods)

The Hawaiian nation is not in distress. Places like Somalia, Afghanistan or the Philippines are nations in distress. The only distressed kanaka are those who choose to live a distressed lifestyle of drug abuse or criminal behavior. They chose poorly.

With few exceptions, America has given everyone a good shot at leading a happy, safe, and prosperous life. That includes all kanaka maoli. But like anything else in life, you have to work for it.
I was going to post a fabulous picture of my pure Hawaiian grandmother and kids circa 1930. The kids looked like ragamuffins and had no shoes or sandals. Yet they grew up and achieved happy productive lives. One became a nurse at Queens, one became a teacher and counselor, one became a police officer, my mom wrote cookbooks and articles in the newspaper and invented a popular juice drink.

My point is this:
If you are going to protest something you better be damn sure you have something to protest about.
If a kanaka is at the bottom of the socio-economic ladder, it was because they made some poor choices. Not because they are oppressed.
What, Me Worry?

Let them fly the State and their fictitious nation flag upside down
Why does this get everybody’s panties in a bunch?
I find it ironic that they even fly the State flag.

Will this get people of Hawaii closer to sovereignty?  No. It’s a pipe dream.
Too proud to accept Nation-within a-Nation and too blind to see it’s a heck of an option and opportunity.

P.S. they should be protesting the bulldozing of Sherwood Forest and all its Iwi in my opinion.

I stopped at Walmart in Pearl Highlands area today.  I happened to be behind a woman as I walked from the parking lot who was wearing a bright florescent yellow-green T-shirt.

On the back in large black lettering was:

AMERICAN
   BY
 FORCE

The irony of where she was shopping seemed to escape her.

I was tempted to stop her to ask who is using force preventing her from renouncing her citizenship.

I also wanted to mention there are tens of thousands of people entering the US illegally every month in hopes of eventually gaining citizenship for themselves and their children.

Maybe we can trade her for a Guatemalan?    :shaka:

I opted to not engage her.  I didn't want to wind up on the evening news as the Hawaiian-hating Haole that harasses distressed Walmart shoppers.

Nothing surprises me anymore...
Was following this van that had anti fracking, anti this and anti that banners on his tailgate. One in particular that caught my eye was one that said “NRA is a terrorist organization” alongside of a banner that said “U.S. NAVY RETIRED”. Decided to get in front of him so he could see my terrorist license plate frame with “Life Member National Rifle Association” on it. Guess he took a look and decided to lag way back all the way up Kam Hwy thru Kipapa gulch. After all I’m a terrorist and it could of scared him...
Yup I’m Navy retired also just don’t advertise it... :D ;)

Where do you get those plate frames?  NRA website?

I got VietVet plate hoping to piss off aging hippies.

Was advised against showing my NRA Life sticker as it might get someone following me home assuming I had firearms to steal?

No, they are flying the Hawaiian National Flag, nothing fictitious about that.

Your statements above would be valid if Hawai'i was a legal part of the USA.  But alas, it is NOT because there is no US Constitutionally legal document that proves so.

Nope.  There is no Hawaiian Nation, so by default, no Hawaiian National Flag.

The flag was ONCE (as in "is no more") used by the Kingdom of Hawaii, but that flag is now the official flag of the State of Hawaii -- "State", as in United States of America.

Denial doesn't trump reality.  The Nation of Hawaii does not exist.  To deny that fact is a sign of intellectual dishonesty.  You'll never win the fight you pretend to champion because no one takes delusional people seriously.

I thought the protests were about TMT, too.

Apparently the protests are just a massive grab for attention to air non-TMT-specific issues.

This thread is mirroring the protests.  The topic is what it is.

The flag with the Union Jack (Hawaii State Flag) existed before 1843.
In 1816,  the flag was created by order of Kamehameha I.

1794-1816 Hawaii flew Union Jack as its National Flag
1816-1843 Hawaii flew early version of present flag
25 Feb - 31 July 1843 British occupation; all Hawaiian Flags were destroyed
31 July 1843 King Kamehameha III spoke his famous prayer of thanksgiving, a part of which serves today as the State Motto while a Hawaiian Flag that included a dove and olive branch was hoisted.
20 May 1845 present Hawaiian Flag adopted
    1 Feb - 1 April 1893 U.S. Flag flown in Hawaii
1894 Republic of Hawaii readopts Hawaiian Flag
1898-1959 Territory of Hawaii uses Hawaiian Flag (confirmed 1903)
1959-present State of Hawaii uses Hawaiian Flag (confirmed 1959)

The  Kanaka Maoli—or "native Hawaiian"—flag was introduced to the public by Gene Simeona of Honolulu in 2001.   :o
It was based upon the royal flag, also called the royal ensign,  a flag that signals the presence of the Hawaiian monarch .
It was stripes of red, white and blue with crest in center vs Kanaka Maoli flag with its green, red and yellow stripes bearing only the paddles from the center of the original flag's crest.
