Brandon has done #Walkaway town-hall-style events in several major cities. One venue tried to cancel his event ONE DAY PRIOR even though he had a signed contract. The reason? Someone who hates his group sent an email to the venue operators saying Brandon's group was White Nationalist, bigoted, xenophobic, racist and so on. Basically, all the standard "Basket of Deplorables" insults.
Brandon tried to get the venue managers to view just one video of his New York event to see the truth about what they planned to present, and that the email was 100% untrue. The managers refused to watch or discuss it further. They even threatened to call the police if they didn't leave. Luckily they found another venue nearby and held the event.
Goes to show the power of using the right words to attack your opponents. People are basically lazy and won't always research your claims. The emails had no examples or evidence of their accusations against #Walkaway, but it had the desired effect. Until we stop believing everything we read on the computer or smartphone, this tactic will continue to succeed.
