Hope they checked her for rabies and STDs.  Certainly looked like an infected species.  The smell was likely almost fatal.

He would have been smarter to drive off long before she was able to get inside the vehicle.

Stay inside.

Lock the doors.

If you can start the engine, drive away.

Report the damage to the police, then to your insurance company.  You'll eat the deductible, but you have the option to sue the Walker for that amount if you can find her/him/it.
