I just got her email newsletter, in which she notes her change of position re impeachment, and included the following, further cementing her position as a gun-grabbing civilian disarmament advocate (she notes support of the usual suspects, but apparently no input from NRA, GOA, SAF, Andrew Pollack, etc.... figures):
School Shooting Safety and Preparedness Act Introduced & Passed Committee
Earlier this month, I introduced the School Safety and Preparedness Act [https://iqconnect.lmhostediq.com/iqextranet/iqClickTrk.aspx?&cid=HI02TG&crop=14455.9535274.5391183.7119893&report_id=&redirect=https%3a%2f%2fwww.congress.gov%2fbill%2f116th-congress%2fhouse-bill%2f4301&redir_log=948251024022400] . Classrooms should be a safe place where parents can have peace of mind that their children will be safe and free to learn. Right now there is no agreed upon definition of “school shooting” which means there is no uniform data. If my bill passes, we can implement evidence-based solutions to help prevent school shootings based on a common understanding of the problem.
My bill was introduced with Reps. Jahana Hayes (CT) and Lucy McBath (GA), whose son was a victim of gun violence. It is endorsed by several national gun violence safety and education organizations [https://iqconnect.lmhostediq.com/iqextranet/iqClickTrk.aspx?&cid=HI02TG&crop=14455.9535274.5391183.7119893&report_id=&redirect=https%3a%2f%2fgabbard.house.gov%2fnews%2fpress-releases%2freps-gabbard-mcbath-and-hayes-school-shooting-safety-and-preparedness-bill&redir_log=754698122375844] , including the NEA and AFT, Everytown for Gun Safety, and Sandy Hook Promise. The House Education and Labor Committee passed this bill last week.
