I like Popeyes Chicken. 

If I need to defend myself in an active shooter scenario, I would fling a cold Foodland or Safeway chicken at the perp.
They turn into little rocks 10 minutes after you walk out of the store.

I would say that garlic chicken isn't classified as fried chicken.  It has it's own category, like Korean chicken, bbq chicken, etc...

Rarely eat fried chicken these days, but I like Lahaina Chicken Company’s fried chicken. 

Really miss my grandmother’s friend chicken. She’d make is for Sunday dinners and would set aside some for me for lunch the next day.

our- I've had Ray's, Zippy's, and Pancakes and Waffles
Ray's is legit, weird location, and made fresh, but takes a long time. IIRC, weird days/hours
Zippy's is classic
Pancakes and Waffles is good, especially as chicken and waffles

liked all but the supermarket ones

I like KJs and Taniokas. KJs sometimes out though. Zippys is classic. Anyplace lounge has awesome fried chicken too.

Itchy Butt is good too for the different sauces/flavors. My buddy loves Von’s, but it’s ok.

Then there’s the Chinese style crispy fried chicken. Duck Butt and Golden Duck are awesome for that.

No fan of fried chicken, but a dozen or more Chinese style recipes and Caribbean jerk chicken, now you got something.

i can even cook a few of them.

XO is #1, amazing out of the world sauce and the chicken itself is very good. I would add Foodland to the list though.

Paalaa seems to be a favorite chicken spot as well

+1 on Lahaina Chicken Company. When I was working at Ala Moana it was a staple for me for 2 1/2 years.

The day after I wrote that comment, we had a potluck at work.
I work next door to a Foodland store and somebody brought a bag of the Foodland fried chicken.
At first, people grabbed it quickly. When it got down to the last 3 pieces it just sat there.
I took one piece home to chop into my dog's food.... It was pretty hard to chop up.

The rest of the chicken went into the company refrigerator and sat there for 2 days. I don't know where those ended up.

Really? I never had that issue. I always leave the bag open so the steam doesn't build up and soften the crunch

I put the leftovers in the fridge then heat them up the next day in the toaster oven and the skin gets almost as crispy again.
