What are your guy’s thoughts on Megan Kau? I know she said “don’t bring a gun to a knife fight” but I think it was taken out of context. Personally, I think it’s about escalation of force. If both parties are mutual fighting and one person is now getting beat up he/she doesn’t have a right to pull out a knife and claim self defense.
Please don’t chew my head off because I maybe totally wrong. 😂

She was wrong.  No where in HI law does it state what you can use for deadly force.  Law just states when deadly force is allowed.  I don't think she misspoke or that the news edited her 45 min interview wrong either.  She was very clear when she said, if someone has a knife, you can't use a gun.  She was flat out wrong.

She is the favorite for the news because she's the only one they're giving air time to.  Unless no one else is running for Kaneshiro's job.   I don't trust her because she is in the Hawaii system and would probably implement the same mentality that all her predecessors have done.  Same reason why I'm skeptical about Green.  Yes he is trying to do more for the people as Lt. Gov, but I think he has an alternate motive.  Get votes to win gov, then be the same like all previous DNC govs once he gets the job.  This is HI's problem is voting for the same type of leader and not voting at all.

I hope he is not, because so far, he is the favorite and doing stuff for the people.  But isn't he anti 2a?

She looks like the best candidate we'll ever get.  Firearms owner and Hunter, victim of domestics, and answering questions of the general public.

Vast majority of lawyers are for gun control then give that the Hawaii factor.  I think this is as good as it gets

Was anyone else on that Q and A?

Didn't like she did the, "I support the 2nd Amendment, but....."   and her statements that you can't use deadly force "just cause someone breaks in..."  Why not?

Why does the home owner/occupant need to "prove" that they felt threat to their life or serious bodily injury?  A person breaking into your home, committing a felony already, and you are the one that needs to prove you feel your life is threatened?  I don't think so....  That is not reasonable, and is illogical.

If this is the best we are going to get, then it doesn't look like much good for gun owners, or law abiding citizens in general.

I hope there's more background info on this. Maybe he raped their dog or something. Meth dealer?
But that is straight up messed up. Trespass. Assault. Terroristic Threatening. Serious BI. Dangerous Instrument. And they got away with it.
If I was a lawmaker Id be pushing some laws. Stand your ground. Castle doctrine. etc.
But I can only guess the most our all-knowing lawmakers will do is MAYBE pass an act or resolution. They most likely will push money for an app....
I can imagine that IF the victim got a gun and used it against the perps RACIST would be thrown around and media would say how nice these locals were
- but because he was perceived as white these crumbs got a pass for beating the crap out of him.
These clowns got life
