I was wondering about the legalities of it as for hawaii goes once the 1911 is finally is built how would it be registered or stay unregistered

Up to 60 hours of DIY file time, or milling, or gun smith.
Cannot register,sell, or transfer.
Costs up to $1500 for parts and tools.
Found info on multiple 1911 forums.

When you finish it you  need to engrave a number on it. Some people engrave both name and ssn or car lic plate number on it. Go to hpd and register it. You must do all the finish work youself. They will give you the permit and tell you that you cant sell it.  You will have to destroy the frame or give it to hpd when you dont want it.   If you have a shop With a class 7 ffl finish it  They can serial number it and you can register it or sell it in the future.   If you have other q's about this let me know.

I though there was no federal law that said you have to serialize and register a home built receiver, as long as it was for personal use? I was looking for a state law on the subject but couldn't seem to find anything about it.
