Stephen  and I just filed this complaint on behalf of Hawaii Firearms Coalition member Todd Yukutake? and David Kikukawa challenge the State of Hawaii's and the City and County of Honolulu's requirement that individuals bring their guns to the station in order to register, physically retrieve their permits at the station, the fact handgun permits expire after 10 days from receiving them and the times HPD is open to apply for a permit to acquire.

Yes! Why can't the stores perform BG checks just like other states do that run their own check system i.e: Nevada. Even Commifornia is easier. I'd rather the 10 day wait at the store than the permitting scheme they run here.

The people injured by the state will probably expire from old age before
the courts rule on it.
You may want to invest in a CNC machine or a "printer".

I’ve been a little,behind on them because life, will be catching up in November

I'm seeking a settlement of this lawsuit with C&C Honolulu.  The settlement will go before a vote in the city council this Tuesday at 1pm.  I expect this to pass the vote so no testimony is needed.

There may be some conflicts with HPD's new appointment system which started up after the settlement was drafted, we'll have to see how it goes.

From what I gathered:

1. You don’t have to bring the firearm with you when you register it.
2. No longer being required to go down and register Mon to Fri.
3. Pistol permits no longer expire after 5 days.
4. No longer having to go down to the main station to pick up your permit in person.

Someone can correct or add anything I missed.  I’m not sure about #4 since you can get your permit mailed to you now as long as you provide a SASE.  I’ve never done this since there’s a lot of private personal info on it such as my SSN and vitals etc.  Anyone ever tried this method to obtain their permit?

So the purpose of this lawsuit was to get some quick fixes in that will save people some money for transportation and taking time off of work.

The committee passed the settlement yesterday, now it will go for the city council vote on June 3rd.
