Hawaii Firearms Coalition challenge's Hawaii's permit to acquire system (Read 24091 times)

So the purpose of this lawsuit was to get some quick fixes in that will save people some money for transportation and taking time off of work.

The committee passed the settlement yesterday, now it will go for the city council vote on June 3rd.

Registration for the Westside folks at Kapolei sub-station and Kaneohe for the Windward side? 🤞
No one is coming, it’s up to us.

Legislation should never be about depriving law abiding citizens of something, but rather taking those things away from criminals.

Anything come of this?

I saw it was on the docket for June 9th. I'm sure that when its done, we will know what happened

confidential until the judge rules.  But you can look at the lawsuit filing to see what's possible.

BIG WIN!!!!!

I'm not sure when the Wednesday's will start, probably when some city offices start opening.  I have a feeling the line may be a little long on Wednesdays at 6:30.

Lawsuit vs the State is still ongoing.

That one's going to be tough and it's going to be a while.  Hopefully we can keep cutting the permitting/registration process so that it can be done remotely or made so simple that it can be done by any officer at the other stations.

It's time for everyone to start flocking to HPD on Wednesday's at 6:20 pm to force them to stay late.
"The rifle is a weapon. Let there be no mistake about that. It is a tool of power, and thus dependent completely upon the moral stature of its user. It is equally useful in securing meat for the table, destroying group enemies on the battlefield, and resisting tyranny. In fact, it is the only means of resisting tyranny, since a citizenry armed with rifles simply cannot be tyrannized."

Bring out the beach chairs, going to be like this again.  And empty plastic bottles too.

What I can see them doing is closing the restroom access.

Nope.  They have to allow us to wash our hands.  COVID-19 preventative measures.   :geekdanc:

I'd change that to:

if you can schedule your visit on Wed after 3:30, it'll show there's a demand for services  after the current normal hours.  If they are sitting around with no customers, they might decide it's a waste of funds.

Added benefit: even though the front on-street parking is closed for rush hour after 3:30 PM, the lots ought to have plenty of open parking spaces.

Their settlement states the Wednesday time.  I don't think they can back track on it, even if it's slow.  Not sure.

zippz

Wednesday nights will never be slow.  I'm hoping that it'll be so busy that they'll be tired of working late and open a second late evening.

Lihikai

They'll shift their opening time to Noon on Wednesdays to avoid paying OT.

I doubt the times are set for all of eternity.  Although the settlement is in place, it can always be modified if both sides agree and a judge approves.

Saw that last night.  Awesome!!!

Hopefully this starts a positive trend for relaxation of the hoops that we currently have to jump, tuck, and roll through. . .
