Ever wonder ... ??
« on: November 01, 2019, 11:59:40 PM »
You ever wonder why people post comments like "I don't know" or "I have no idea" in response to questions submitted by other online shoppers?

I do.

I wonder if they think telling everyone they don't know the answer is adding to the "knowledge base".

I wonder if they think telling others they don't know is somehow cheering up the person posting the question -- letting them know there are other people out there who bought that thing and STILL don't know much about it.

I wonder if these people bought something, can't figure it out, and are checking back often in hopes that someone will give the answers to others' questions they have, too.

Maybe they feel frustrated waiting for someone who knows the answer to post it, and this is how they release that frustration.

Maybe they see an unanswered question and think, "That poor lonely person!  Everyone else has ignored them, so I'll say something."

I can honestly say, I don't know

I see these all the time. I just wonder if these people feel obligated to post a reply to an e-mail they receive? For instance, when I buy something from Amazon, they will send me an e-mail saying XXX is asking a question about the product you recently purchased. Go out there and post an answer. I always delete these e-mails. So possibly these people who post “I don’t Know” are just trying to be helpful? I don’t know.....

Some say there’s no such thing as a stupid question. I’ve seen some doozies on Amazon. Think some are kids playing around. Some bored teens or adults trolling. So then maybe some troll back with their responses.

Overall, some people have way too much time in their hands. 😝

Suicide rates are up and people are lonelier than ever thanks to the electronic dystopia turning us all into phone zombies. It might be a desperate attempt to connect with someone. Also when we die there is a funeral and then people go on with their own lives to the point where everyone we ever knew is dead and no one remembers us at all, yet our reviews continue to live on (at least until the grid goes down). Happy Existential Monday!
Stop blaming lazy people. We didn’t do anything.

"The Internet is forever."

Internet = Eternity

I can see the corollary between the Internet and Heaven -- having an existence beyond ones mortal lifespan.

I think suicide rates and loneliness can also be attributed to certain drugs (illicit or otherwise) that directly effect the brain that people take for whatever reasons.

I also see a correlation between suicide and the assault on religion in the world, in particular in the US.

There is a wide spectrum of mental illness.  When someone who is depressed, but not suicidal, has few options that help, often religion fills that void.  The feeling of uselessness, helplessness, etc. can be alleviated with a belief that their current situation is not only temporary, but they don't have to deal with it alone.

If 20 people go to a hospital to pray for healing with a patient, it's much better than preaching "science" and telling them their prognosis is grim.  A positive outlook goes a long way toward healing the body and mind.

if religion offers hope, how is that a bad thing?  Suicide is a final act after all hope is lost.

I see the assault on religion these days. I’m not a religious person so I can’t speak to being assaulted. But I can speak to the power that religion can have. Especially in the case of helping people. While I choose not to be religious I see mostly good coming out of most religions. I don’t consider fanaticism as a religion. My whole family is religious but different religions. There are obviously good and bad sides to the different religions. We all seem to get along very well even tho one of my brothers is quite annoying.
