In most states it is every day of the week during the season. Why so limited here?
Thanks for the info, I am just trying to understand.....
Actually, the days allowed vary by island and locale. Most include weekends and state holidays. Kauai includes Mondays, too. "MAUNA KEA GAME MANAGEMENT AREA AND FOREST RESERVE AND PUU MALI MITIGATION SITE (UNIT A) will be open for game bird hunting Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, Sundays, and State Holidays..."https://dlnr.hawaii.gov/recreation/files/2019/10/Announcement-Gamebird-Season-2019-2020.pdf
Some locations allow both small game/mammal hunters and bird hunters. Don't want both groups in the area at the same time.
Some locations are used for DoD training during the week.
PRIVATELY OWNED LANDS are open to game bird hunting on weekends, State
holidays and Wednesdays - Thursdays for Units A, G, PTA and private lands during the
regular game bird season which is November 3, 2018 through January 27, 2019, with
landowner permission and in accordance with Chapter 13-122.
The exhibits in this document starting on page 33 show which birds can be taken, the bag limits, dates, days of the week, and locations for bird hunting, as well as special conditions. The exhibits are by island and provide maps for each area.
It's a WHOLE LOT MORE COMPLICATED than "just on weekends." https://dlnr.hawaii.gov/dofaw/files/2013/09/HAR-122-Game-Birds.pdf
