So I got my situation taken care of. Debating on taking my safe or selling it. Company is paying for a 45 foot conex but I'm hesitant about bringing my safe just because I'm aware of how horrible it is to move (1350lbs empty) and running the math on the conex I'm running out of room between the vehicles and toolboxes. Thinking about buying two smaller safes, what are my options on the big island?

Good luck buying a safe in hawaii. They are hard to come by, and most often have to be ordered from the mainland.  You maybe able to get one from Costco in kona if they have them on stock.

Yea, that's more or less what I've been told that no one has really ever noticed them. I just know that:

A: I'm running out of room
B: there is no professional safe moving on the island and moving a 1350lbs safe up a steep drive way is asking to get someone killed (500lbs isn't that bad but after you cross over that it's like an if it's not end game).

I noticed that costco will do a pickup delivery for instore pickup for $160 or less on most of their bargain basement safes.

I havent seen a decent safe on island.  costco.com uses local moving companies to deliver here, not sure how it works at the kona store though.  The safes I've seen there were ok ~10 gun safes but not something I would trust with a collection.  I think it was the Bighorn safe in this list

Plan for moisture.   I have mold that grows on cast iron where I am up north.  The mold grows on everything, wood, plastic.  Leather looks like a chia pet after a week sitting in a closet

I didnt bring any of my firearms but I have some of my tools in a bluguard anti-corrosion bag and they are still in good shape after a few years
