I have had a Twitter account almost from the beginning of its inception. But recently I have gotten back on Twitter to see if it is still worth maintaining my account. While I generally stay away from the swamp creatures cuz all they do is call each other names. But I have been finding it interesting because people like Dan Bongino and Trump Jr. are brutal on Twitter and it is quite entertaining at times.

I don’t generally tweet myself. I usually just retweet all the brutal and funny shit I read. And when I got back on to my account after several years of being dormant, I found I started losing followers.    Interesting that as soon as I became active again, and started being political, I lost about 30% of my followers immediately. Not that I had a lot of followers. But I have regained quite a few new followers. People I don’t know. Most of them are similarly political. Kinda cool.

But my biggest take away recently is the number of women trying to find a man on Twitter. I turned on messaging in my Twitter app and all of the sudden these women started following me. They cannot DM unless I follow them back. Well a couple of days ago I turned on DM and the flood of women looking for a man started. Some wanted to exchange sexy photos and some want sex talk. Most want photos. Recent photos. And one is wanting to just be friends. But she still wants a photo. I have only given her the one I have on my FB account. Anyway, I have a feeling she (He?) wants something from me but I have yet to figure out what yet? She types like she is from another country but swears she is born and raised in one town in TX. Anyway, I want to string her along. Anyone have any experience in doing something like this?

I’ve had Twitter for a while. I haven’t checked in years. Maybe I should check my follower requests. 🤔

Twitter always seemed stupid to me.  People posting random thoughts. Then the hashtag trending thing. Battle over followers. I guess same for FB and IG. I was at a holidays party with friends and one of me friend’s kids asked me to follow him. Fine, no harm. So I had him find his acct on my phone and then he started to like all of his past posts. Haha. Little brat just wanted more likes.

I made one to follow the local gun shops to see when the next sale comes up. All other shit I see gets reposted on Instagram and Facebook.

Oh, and to creep on camgirls and pornstars because the content doesn't get censored.

It's happened more than once.

I worked at a tech startup in 2000-2001 and there was this one guy from Pakistan that would watch porn on his work computer. And he would leave porn on his screen and walk away. One day he came back to his desk just as the receptionist was walking by. She stopped to do a double take on his screen and he walked up and pushed her into his cube and tried to feel her up. When she complained he claimed he wasn’t looking where he was going and ran into her, knocking her into his cube. A couple of weeks later she just quit but not before complaining about him showing up at her house and trying to force his way into her house. Fortunately, her husband was home at the time. A couple of weeks later they let him go. He threatened to bomb our office. They had him arrested and we had armed guards outside our office for a couple of months. This incident obviously is not funny.

What is funny is that this company was a network storage startup company before cloud storage became a thing. We quickly ran out of storage and and added a second cabinet of hard drives during my time there. That’s two cabinets full of hard drives. For those who don’t know, that is a LOT of storage. One day I was assigned to help the IT guy try and figure out where we could delete and/or compress some of our files because we were getting close to needing a third storage cabinet. After writing a bunch of scripts to try and classify and date our data I found nothing was adding up. Literally I found only enough data to fill one storage cabinet and we had 2 and were working on getting a third. So I started searching per drive and found some drives were full but literally only had a few small files on them. After some searching I found most of the drives were like that. I decided to search for hidden directories and found the second cabinet was almost 80% full inside those hidden directories. If any of you know Unix, hidden directories are easy to do as long as you know the exact name but can be a little tough to discover if you don’t know they are there and don’t know the directory names. Anyway, turns out this guy who got fired had almost filled up that second cabinet with porn. I found some other interesting stuff. He had written some scripts to run on some of the idle test lab machines all night every night downloading porn and storing it on our network drives. It only took him about a year to fill up the second cabinet.

Most of them are pretty obvious. They have some sort of account that you have to pay to have a private show with them. Others I think just want photos. But this one was different. He/she kept saying they were looking for a relationship. I kept telling them I was not interested in that. So they kept saying let’s just be friends. But I kept getting this feeling they wanted something from me but I wasn’t playing along so I think they kept just trying to string me along. But I don’t think they realized I was trying to string them along. Kinda like scamming the scammer. Anyway, so far I think I have figured out how NOT to string them along. I asked him/her if they followed politics at all. I didn’t hear from her for 12 hours. Yesterday morning I asked her what she felt was special about her hometown where she was born and still lives. I still have not heard back from her.

Don’t think you’re missing much. Social media is an easy way to keep in touch and reconnect, but lots of BS and crap out there as well. Take the good with the bad. Much like rap life. However, just like online forums, there are folks that are either emboldened or less considerate when it’s not in person.

I only use FB to stay in touch with my friends from HS and my family located all over the US and in Israel. And I just started using Twitter but mostly just to trigger those who still choose to follow me.

Have read that sort of homo stalking and subterfuge goes on a lot.   Same with creeps chasing underage kids of both polarizations.

A couple more observations. There are a lot of women (Men?) trying to hook up somehow over DM. I got 6 new followers overnight. Three of them seem like scammers. So I just blocked them. But the other 3 seem to be legit women who are Trump lovers trying to gain followers. They are tweeting and retweeting other Trump and country loving women’s views. So I am going along with them for the ride.

Overall, Twitter is really swampy and I am not going to go down the rabbit hole with these swamp creatures. But there are legit people on Twitter trying to get the word out about what they feel passionate about. I’m going to pare down my follower and following lists soon so I don’t get a bunch of shit.
