We have 10 rounds capacity allowed in Hawaii.
what caliber do you prefer for defending your 2a?
I like to reload, so for recreational shooting , it"s 45acp.

For fun shooting I like 45.
For defensive shooting I chose 9mm since HPD chose it.
 They must know something....right?

I tend to prefer semi-autos that come with 10 round standard mags.

That way I don't feel like I've been cheated by the state out of additional fire power.   :geekdanc:

It also makes buying pistols online easier.  No having to deal with sellers over >10 rd mags included with the firearm.

Glock 26 9mm: 10 rd std
Glock 30 .45ACP:  10 rd std
Sig P320 Compact 9mm:  10 rd std
Sig P227 .45ACP: 10 rd std (Released in 2013...discontinued this year)

Of course, if you don't mind buying compliant factory mags or having to pay for the std mags to be blocked, being able to carry "disassembled mag parts kits" when you travel to normal states is a plus.

As for the 9mm, that might be somewhat of a stretch.....

Not trying to start a caliber war here.... but 10 rounds is what we have.

Would .45acp or 9mm or any other caliber be better than the other because of the 10 round limit ?

IMO use what you train and are most proficient with.  If it's .45 then .45 it is.

I doubt that.  From what the BI PD shows, they cannot even hit the target with the mild 9mm.

The ,45 is too much for them.  Now, if they went with the 10mm, maybe they might have some sense, but still not skill.

Well it makes sense to me now, law abiding criminals will have ten rounds before reloading while PD will have 17.

I eventually settled on 12 gauge 00 Buck for home defense. Standard lead, nothing copper-plated.

And no I dont use the Joe Biden Special double barrel shotgun while firing dangerously into the air.

I got sick for a while and didn’t think I could handle the recoil of my 12 gauges so I sold them. ( big mistake)

Favorite caliber for exercising my 2a rights? Any caliber that I have or someone wants to offer to have me try. Well, expert for some of dogman’s manly revolver loads 😳

Seriously tho, I’m with Bota. Whatever you train and most proficient with. For me, that’s 9 mm and 5.56/.223. I have a shooting buddy who is dead set that fotay is more fun for him, but will admits that he can shoot faster and usually more accurately with 9 mm. He “likes to challenge himself”. Another shooting friend and I just 🙄 and tell him “rock on den”. Haha
