If you care to, leave which state you have a permit from.

Times 3 ...

down from 4, since Maine now offers permit-less carry to nonresidents.  No need to renew that one since I have FL, NV and UT now.

Multiple licenses provide a larger number of states I can carry in as well as overlap between permits, as the reciprocity agreements between states change or expire quite often.   If one permit stops being honored in another state, hopefully one of the other three will still be valid.  Might save me from an unpleasant surprise.

I can carry legally in about 36 states at any given time.

NV, UT, AZ.  All are going to expire this year.  I will probably only renew my NV permit.

I'm surprised there's that many Nevada permits.  Did you guys get them before Nevada had reciprocity?

I got it after the "blue cards" were eliminated.  We used to go to vegas 2-3x a year.  But now we only go once and use the other to go Taiwan.

Prior to the new Nevada CCW, their permits were by county and handgun specific and were on blue cards.  I think this was like 5 years or so ago.   And mainland counties are very different from Hawaii.  Oahu is part of C&C of Honolulu.  And it's easy to tell when you leave this county because you're on a different Island.  Where as in Nevada, you can be in 1 and easily cross over into another.  The only way of really knowing is that the street signs of the names of the streets look different.  Nevada thought this was stupid and made their permits statewide instead and are not handgun specific.

Vegas is the 9th Island so to have a Nevada specific one means you can CCW within 1000 feet of a school and not violate federal law.  Being on school property is another story.  I think this is important because I'm not from there and do not know when I'm going to be passing a school zone via car or shopping.  But in 2018, only 65ish people were charged with violating the 1000ft law.  Most were add on charges to felons.  IIRC, there is 1 guy who's challenging it because he is a legal gun owner and he was like 998ft.

Still have my "Blue Cards". Keep them as proof of ownership mostly. And for nostalgia I guess.

NV permit is one of the more difficult ones to get.  Training and CCW class must be in NV and you have to go in person to either apply or pick up your permit.  Even the renewal requires another training class.  I got my UT, AZ permits by mail in application.

They mail it to you now after a few months.
