Doweling a cracked o/u stock - o/u gunsmith

Are there any local shops that can dowel a o/u shotgun stock that has split/crack?

The split/crack is near where the receiver and stock mate up....may not be repairable

(I’m ordering a semi finished stock as a back up while they are still available)

Any local gunsmith work on o/u’s? The prior owner mentioned that sometimes the trigger won’t reset for the 2nd shot. FWIW, it's a Franchi Alcione

Do you have a picture of the crack? It might be possible to repair.

Thanks for the help!

I found out that one of coworkers does woodworking and he will try to glue the stock and clamp it.

I noticed that the grain of the stock is not in line with the barrel. That is likely the cause of the cracks.

For the trigger reset, I’ll try cleaning and reoiling the action. It’s been stored for about 10 years.
