so yesterday I ordered a boyds stock for my 22LR on ebay, today it shipped
ordered direct from Boyds 7 days ago for my 223, and still waiting to ship.
but that's my fault.  I hate waiting!    :grrr:
I should have the 22LR stock by the end of the week, so i'll have something to work on while waiting for the 223 stock to arrive   :geekdanc:

I adjusted the triggers in all 3 my bolt action Ruger Americans:  22LR, 223, 308.  adjustable 3-5 lbs, maybe its around 3-3.5lbs now in each one
so far I only shot the 22 LR.  feels slightly more accurate although I cant really tell by shooting silhouettes.  but it does feel lighter.  goes bang before i'm expecting it, which is a good thing I guess
now I need to test the 223 and 308.
still waiting on the Boyds stock for the 223 to ship.
sometimes I order too impulsively bc I found a seller on ebay that has some Boyds stocks ready to ship.  only found this after I ordered directly from Boyds

2 things that have helped me recently in having more consistent trigger pulls and knowing when my rifle will shoot is switching to a 2 stage trigger (bix n andy / huber) with the 1st stage set at 1lb and 2nd stage at 1.25 for a total of 2.25. Also the biggest change is switching to a flat bladed trigger. Allows me to feel better pressure in my finger pad and pull straight back. Combibed with the 2 stage i can "sit" in the 1st stage and add slight more pressure when ready to fire.

As far as 22lr targets. I just got the jc steel 22lr expansion. Its stake in targets with 3 inch, 2 inch and 1 inch. Great for 50-100 yard practice.

All this bolt action talk got me thinking about upgrading the stock on my Ruger American 223 with a Boyd's stock
Not a whole lot of options for the American, but I hear the Boyd's is a good option

I think there is a Magpul Hunter stock for the Ruger American.  Previously, the problem was that there was no magazine for Ruger Americans chambered in 223, 300 BLK, and 7.62x39, but Magpul just announced a compatible mag at this year's SHOT Show.

The wife wanted a certain Boyd stock for her 22 build.  She was going to use a Kidd action and barrel.  But there are some fitting issues.  IDK which stock she was looking at, but it's probably one that comes in lavender.

thanks for the info about the magpul mag, but I got the Boyds stock coming in soon that will use the factory mag

the Kidd trigger made me think 10/22.
I've heard good and not so good about the Boyds stocks, the not so good is mostly their CS and long wait for delivery sometimes.  if my order isn't shipped by end of the week i'm going to cancel my order or at least talk to CS which I hear is hard to get ahold of

10/22 build sounds like a fun project too. I gave my 10/22 to my nephew a while back, he has fun with it

got both the Boyd's stocks on the 22LR and 223
22 is a Hunter stock in nutmeg color.  223 is the Pro Varmint Hunter in shadow camo color.
delivery of the 22 stock which I ordered from ebay took 5 days, the 223 stock which I ordered from Boyds took 11 days which is within the projected time period. in both cases I am very satisfied with the deliver time
and the quality of the stocks are great.  the 223 one which is gloss finish is incredible.  install was not hard at all.  tight fit tho which is good.
overall I like it much much better than the factory plastic stocks.  well worth it.   :shaka:

Unertl?
.....
Yes.unertl 20x. Purchased from an acquaintance of yours about 40 years ago.
The rifle is a vintage 1937 Winchester model 52A.
Passed down from my late brother about 60 years ago, who got it from my late uncle before that.
It has been said that the win 52 is the king of the 22s.
I agree.
