I believe most people around where I live already stand their ground.  Almost every house is gated and fenced with no trespassing signs.  You are likely to get shot entering someone's property without permission and then refusing to leave when confronted. That’s the way it is in most of rural Puna.  Lots of paranoid people.
Happily living in Puna

FYI there are two versions of the Stand your ground bill.  McDermott's HB1967 allows you to protect property and Quinlan's HB1790 doesn't include that but has a better chance to pass.

Also please support HIFICO's 2 bills HB 2479 and SB2728 bills which reimburse attorney's fees, legal fees, and lost wages if a person is found not guilty due to self-defense.

Contact Rep Lee and Sen Rhoads to hear these 4 bills.

Wow...bills that will actually deter crime! Apparently it has finally gotten bad enough that the legislators are listening. Hopefully one of these bills passes and we do not have to continue waiting for things to get even worse.
If you allow government to break the law for an "emergency" they will create "emergencies" to break the law.
