I found this on a different forum. Hope it helps:

Short answer is YES you can. I already did the calculations on my TA-11F for .308. The TA-11F is calibrated for .223.
You can use any ACOG for any ammo and any caliber. You just have to plug the numbers in a ballistic calculator.
No ACOG will be exact. They are not one shot kill optics and there will be some holdover and adjustments for all of them even if you use the specified ammo with the specified barrel length. ACOGs were meant to be fast with an easy to read reticle. They are meant to get you close, and from there you use Kentucky Windage to make hits.
In real life targets will not be set distances in whole numbers in 100 yard increments. If you range your target to be 550 when it was actually 525, then guess what you are going to be 10" too high. Not just that but if you misread the wind by just 5 mph at that distance you can be off 10" too. So as you can see even if your BDC was exact you will still be off.
The BDC on the flat top models such as a TA-01 NSN, TA-31F, and TA-11F were meant to be fired from a flatop M4 with 14.5" barrel shooting the 62 gr M855 round and center of ACOG about 2.7" over bore. If you are not getting 2900 fps at the muzzle than the BDC will be off. If you are not shooting 62 gr than your your BDC will be off. If you are 10,000 foot above sea level, your BDC will be off. If you are mounting it on your carry handle than the BDC will be off. Get the picture?
Like I said, I use the TA-11F on my AR10 and already did the calculations for .308 147gr M80 ammo where the muzzle velocity is about 2780 FPS, BDC will be off as follows:
100 yards: dead on.
200: dead on.
300: dead on.
400: 2" too high (just aim dead on)
500: 6" too high (aim about half a head low)
600: 15" too high (aim about 1.25 heads low)
700: 30" too high (aim about 2.5 heads low)
800: 50" too high (aim about 3/4th of a human low)
I don't consider an ACOG an optic to go past 600 yards. So all I have to remember is half head low at 500 and 1.25 heads low at 600. For .223 I would not take a shot past 600 yards ever. For .308 I would never take a shot past 600 yards if I am shooting Bulk FMJ's. Only if I am shooting match bullets with a 10x optic would I take a shot past 600 yards with .308.
