Back to muzzle loaders soon?
« on: February 10, 2020, 04:33:20 PM »
Let me just start out by saying that i have probably picked the worst time to start paying attention.
Does the Bill passing through committee on the magazine capacity ban still need to be signed into law by the Governator? (I am guessing that is proper procedure)
If it does will the state be reimbursing people for the forfeit of their property?  Or will there just be, by edict, seizures, fines and incarceration at the point of a gun?

passed only one committee so far
still needs approval in the senate, and then cross over to the house
no provisions for reimbursement

I am guessing most people would just hide what they have, except for the guys on this forum.  We will all turn in what we have because we are all law abiding people.

All my guns are in secure storage on the mainland, so nothing to turn in.
Really!  I mail and air freight things in when I want to hunt or shoot.
Can only hunt on weekends, Hawaii rules.
I am in the market for a pre 1899 Mauser C96. I'll probably have to smuggle ammo
in for it.
I wonder how guys with Parker ranch pre 1899 model 94s are going to get their 30-30.
ammo?
If any more stupid laws pass, I will probably buy a cargo sail boat and park 3 miles off the coast.
"Big island gun runners and ammo supply", I'll also pump out your holding tanks.
I might even run a casino!
Aloha.

Or ship them out of state, or destroy them, like people did with their bumpstocks, since only 5 were turned in (one guy turned in two) in the whole state.

I bet they get at least 10 more-than-ten-round magazines turned in. Maybe even a dozen.

"Big island gun runners and ammo supply"...
You do know that Rhoads-Lee are at this moment writing the rough draft of the bill to make that illegal, right?

What, you say? Hawaii has no jurisdiction over international waters? They have unlimited (taxpayer) funds to litigate for years... as we see with the fact that they have no jurisdiction to infringe our many rights that they already have.

Look at the bright side, any time something is banned but easily obtainable elsewhere, it opens up a business opportunity.  Aerial fireworks have been banned for years, but each year the volume increases and they are shipping them in my the container load.  How can they stop ammo, guns and magazines from coming in?  Especially when these items suddenly become a high profit item.

My gripe is more that they are creating automatic criminals out of what was a law abiding person.
Its like playing a tennis game and every time you finish a match they take away a string from your racket.  Eventually by the end of the game you got an empty hoop and they are lobbing balls at you and laughing at you when you can't return them.  Oh btw here is a fro-yo for you, we warmed it up already so you don't get brain freeze. Because they care of course.
Which brings me to this, Who actually votes for these people? (Rhetorical question) :(

Seeing as how us Big Island guys are "pirates"
Hawaii doesn't have a Navy.
By executive order there is a 12 mile limit, but only the military
can board and inspect, anybody else I can consider a pirate.
Guns and ammo isn't illegal under federal law just yet.
I used to own a documented boat and I know the rules.
I've been boarded. Boats are different from cars, homes and
your land.
Unless they have bigger guns they have to ask permission to
come aboard.

There was already some heavy duty cheating in our local elections and I expect it to get worse with mail-only voting, only now it will be more difficult to prove without exit polls.
