I wet tumble with a Thumlers but the FART is looking more attractive and less archaic than the Thumler. It's not bad at $160 shipped on Amazon.

    IF I reloaded, I'd use the Thumler Reb 17 with SS media and  I would order extra belts off of Amazon (packs of 3).
After the water and media is in the tumbler, I would  have about 2-4 lbs. left for brass  which is already de-primed, flash holed if new, primer pocket cleaned, sized and de-burred.
    For the 17 pound capacity tumbler, 4 Lbs of brass equals “about”

   After,  tumbling I would rinse brass in a colander in a bowl of water with running water to be sure no SS pins were in case/flash hole.
Then I would spread out the brass on a towel on the  "Delicate's "  rack of the clothes dryer,  and run it thru a 20 minute cycle in the dryer.
They would be Purdy IF I reloaded.

I know you don’t reload. But maybe you can answer a question for me. You said if you did reload that you would de-prime and clean the primer pocket before you wet tumble. I was always under the impression that the beauty of wet tumbling is that the wet tumbling and SS media cleans the primer pockets really well. Am I wrong about about my assumption? I understand that you don’t reload and may not know the answer to this. But if you do know the answer to this, I would appreciate your enlightening me because I am thinking of ditching my ultrasonic cleaner and going to wet tumbling.

A litle hard to see. But primer pockers are about 90% shiny brass with just wet tumbling with SS pins, dawn, and lemishine. That was a batch of 223 i did for about 1.5hrs in my frankford. No need to go longer than that. Hope that helps.

Yes, that does help, thanks! Right now I use an ultrasonic cleaner which is hit and miss on the primer pockets. I always wait until after I use the ultrasonic cleaner before deciding to clean the primer pockets.

I have the FA tumbler. Tried corn cob, walnut, ultrasonic and was never really pleased until I went “wet” and never looked back. BTW I dry the brass with a cheap food dehydrator. Couple of hours on high and they come out nice and dry. The one I use has 6 tiers and dried about 600 pieces of brass at one time....

If I go the wet tumbler method I’ll get a dehydrator. However, I will be retired so waiting for brass to dry naturally is no biggie. I’m going to have more room than I know what to do with at the new house. I just need to build a bench or two out in my garage. Casting boolits is on my list of next thing to do.
