You're quite optimistic at how quickly the military proceeds with stuff like paperwork to get folks going. . .  ;D

What makes you think the state didn't start planning NG deployment in January?

Uh, I know at least one unit that started it as of today... other units, well 🤷🏻‍♂️

I visited my inlaws last night who came back from Taiwan in mid feb.  I told my mother in law that we wont see them for 1 month (self quarantine).  She was not sick, just a precaution.  She told me that a little bit after we left Taiwan (mid December) is when Taiwan started to prep for CV.  They closed their borders in Jan.  This is what helped them have so low numbers when they are right next to China.

Weird how Taiwan isn't listed on the CDC list.  I had to google and according to Taiwan news, they're at 169 cases.  Which is relatively low considering how close they are to China.  But many people there wear face mask anyways.

Once they activate the NG, the law is what they say it is.

I give it another week at their current pace. No way HPD can handle it on their own.

They're boiling frogs.

Stay frosty.
Heard NG was alerted to show up this week on Oahu

This law is currently in the HRS for firearms, and the ammo bills amend it to include ammunition too.

4   (2) That the license during any time of national emergency
5   or crisis, as defined in section 134-34, may be
   6   canceled or suspended.
7   (3) That all firearms or ammunition for any firearm in the
8   possession and control of any licensee at any time of
9   national emergency or crisis, as defined in section
10   134-34, may be seized and held in possession or
11   purchased by or on the order of the governor until
12   such time as the national emergency or crisis has
13   passed, or until such time as the licensee and the
14   government of the United States or the government of
15   the State may agree upon some other disposition of the
   16   same.

Too bad.
No mo' guns or boolits at LGS any mo'.

Someone was telling met that during Katrina, the cops were confiscating, but the NG said no.

I’m pretty sure it was the NG that was confiscating. I was just watching on YouTube “gun confiscation in New Orleans. It was pretty messed up. Just goes to show that whole narrative that many in the military are pro 2A and wouldn’t obey such orders is false.

Of course it is FALSE.

The idea of NG or military not following orders to confiscate firearms from civilians is a complete FALLACY.  Even if a field commander or NCO defies their orders, rest assured, THERE WILL BE some misguided patriotic young and ambitious soldiers that will follow their orders and do the bidding of the gun grabbers.

Why else are only police and military usually NOT RESTRICTED in their personal firearm purchases?

Their exemptions to such laws are to WIN THEIR LOYALTY and instill in them that they are higher up than the PEONS that make up the civilian population.  Thus, this mindset creates an air of SUPERIORITY, which allows such police and military to PYSCHOLOGICALLY justify obeying their firearm confiscation orders in their own MINDS.

The extra emphasis makes it kind of difficult to read. Its a nice quiet evening at home but it feels like someone is yelling at me.
Stop blaming lazy people. We didn’t do anything.

Sorry HB.

However, gun owners should have no illusions thinking those ordered to confiscate firearms will not carry out their orders diligently.  Some of them might warn their friends in advance, but make no mistake, the majority will follow their commands without question or hesitation.

The real question for all gun owners is what they will do if/when they get the gun grabber knock at the door.

It's why they'll "No Knock" at 3am. Easier to put you down.

Don't you love registration?

Just like the cops cleared off the Mauna Kea Access road of TMT protesters?
Oahu may make the laws, but outer islands operate a little differently,
than you big city guys.  We know where the cops live, where their wives shop,
where cops go shooting, and where their kids go to school.
No threat intended, but the BI is pretty "small town".

Personally I think you'd be crazy to register a gun here in Hawaii, but it is the law.

The powers that be know that.

That's what the drop shipped HPD and national guard units are for.

They did send Oahu HPD over.  We have guard units here.
But it is the Big island, we live here.  Not really enough people to mess with
in a full scale assault.
The Oahu HPD people they sent over didn't do squat.
They were probably out gunned.
Lots of people hunt Mauna Kea.
That area can be well covered from a distance
using "back" roads.

I think the TMT is a waste of money.   But I appreciate
what an engineering marvel it is and what it will
do for the community, all of US!
I will tell you it won't leave as much fecal matter on the ground,
junk, and trash as the "Hawaiians" left after their protest.
Hawaiians I used to work with and know would have not left a mess
literally and figuratively like those people did.
If I choose to hunt,  that is the area of a check-in station.
Protestors trashed the area.
Very hard for me to feel much sympathy.

If the national guard units deployed are serious in confiscating guns on the Big Island, I sincerely PRAY for your safety.

"The Oahu HPD people they sent over didn't do squat.  They were probably out gunned."

Maybe.

However, many HPD sent were either Hawaiian or sympathetic towards Hawaiians.

"Lots of people hunt Mauna Kea.  That area can be well covered from a distance using "back" roads."

True, and I wish them success; but if Big Island gun owners try to put up a stand against the national guard units sent to enforce such laws, you will not last long against their military might.

Kuleana,
Do you live on the BI?
Any resistance won't be a bunch of guys fighting directly against a military squad.  It would be more IEDs, snipers and other forms of guerilla warfare.  A lot of the subdivisions are sparsely populated with narrow gravel roads and heavy tree and vegetation growth right up to the edge of the road.  Perfect conditions for that type of warfare.  But of course, everyone here  all obey the law and would not engage in such activities.

I am just saying be prepared because the US government and its MILITARY would have no problem going Waco, Texas on you.

No one here needs to worry because we are all law abiding citizens.  We will gladly hand over all registered firearms that did not get lost recently.  Was unable to report it because of the jammed phone lines and stay home order.
