Legislature in recess due to virus
« on: March 16, 2020, 01:43:47 PM »
All hearings scheduled this week have been suspended, including Wednesday firearms bills hearing.  Things will resume at a later date when the House and Senate call it back into session.

No hearings or sessions during the recess, but legislators may still be in their offices to see constituents by appointment.  Could be a good time to see your legislator to talk about the gun bills.

I heard it was for 8 weeks. Any chance to get the quarantine extended so they cannot do more damage?
Stop blaming lazy people. We didn’t do anything.

Anyone on here who's tested positive interested in talking to all the anti-gun legislators this week?

There is something in the rules about a 60 working day for the bills.  IDK if this applies in the year or in general.  Hope everything gets deferred till 2021.

This is the end of the 2 year cycle so bills are not deferred to next year.  They start all over again.

60 days can be split up, it's days they are having hearings and floor sessions, so clock stops during the recess.  They also have allowances to extend the session for up to 15 days and could invoke a special session of up to 30 days.

This recess is does benefit us a bit.  It gives us time to have people talk to their legislators in person as they're not busy.

Food for thought...

Why do we need legislators? Don't we already have enough laws?
It seems like most of the time they are just meeting to find new ways to beat the same dead horse.

Old F,

I think they all should be micro chipped.
