"BTW, Hawaii is a one-party consent state for recording conversations.   :geekdanc: "

Good to know thanks  got to look at some apps now  ;D

As long as you are a party to the conversation, or you have given your consent to another party to be recorded, that's all that's needed for the conversation to be recorded -- unless you happen to be his lawyer, priest or doctor, of course.     Just can't record conversations that others are having without you being a party to it.

Quote
Hawaii law (Haw. Rev. Stat.803-42(b)(3)(A)) says recording a conversation is legal if one person in the conversation
knows about the recording or has given consent.

None right now with respects to the wait time.  Judges would give lots of leeway due to COVID.  Better option for a suit would be when all state buildings open up.

We probably had a better chance when new COVID positive cases were at or near 0 a few months ago.
No one is coming, it’s up to us.

Noticed something new on the site. "Health screening" Just the basic thermo test? Or are they going to need some DNA to enter into a data base  got my tin foil hat ready :D

Its a temp check and questionaire. Its done on the registration side so if youre going to the main station to apply for a permit, go to the line for registration first before going to the permit office.

Could someone walk me through this new process? I registered for a permit to acquire, then went down to the GS and paid for a handgun. Now what? I have the pistols info. But I need to wait until my appointment to start the 14 day waiting period? Then I need to make another appointment to register it?? Possibly 3 months out? WTF?
How does this make any sense?
Please help?

We gotta end this crazy! How is it that they had plenty of time to do walkups precovid but now no can get appointments?

Time to go back to writing every legislator and such to get them to fix this problem.

Yes. . . your appointment is to apply for a permit to acquire, bring the handgun info from the GS, down load and fill out the forms from the same site as the appointment, bring your affidavit or Hunters Ed card, pay fees if you haven't already, apply and wait 14 days to pickup your permit. No appointment for permit pickup.

Then I need to make another appointment to register it?? Possibly 3 months out? WTF?
Yes. . . several times (is three several?) I was able to get an appointment to register on the next day without much effort. I passed on a couple  because they were too soon.

Man you got some luck I've been heavy lurking for an aquire (got one finally, out to Nov 6th though) and registration for weeks.

Couple of my friends want me to go to Vegas with them. Permit to acquire appointments were pretty rare earlier than three months out but next day registration appointments were out there when I needed them. I missed several because of my slow typing skills.

the temp check could take 5 minutes per person, they are in no rush
I was 2nd in line and took nearly 10 minutes to get thru the process
be prepared
