Can anyone point me to a place that sells powder/primers?  I never thought I'd actually run out.  Small and large primers , Hodgedon H4350 and  H335  is what I've had on the shelf.

Roys fishing (lol, they have the best prices on primers period), Windward gun (kind of expensive but they got everything), security equipment, young guns. I know they get primers but not to sure if they have that exact powder.

Was at SEC on Friday and surprised to see some bottles of H4350 on the shelf for just under $40 a pound. Primer selection wasn't so good. This is not a good time to run out of powder and primers.

Two years ago I bought a pound of H4350 from SEC for $38, no one else had any, including online. Sometimes you have to pay the price. I trust SEC not to over inflate prices. If H4350 was in stock online it would be about $28 a pound and $350 freight / hazmat fee for one or 100 pounds.

Please read the box before you buy. The only one that actually knows primers and powders very well is Roy himself. If you're dealing with his other workers I'd be skeptic and check the box of what they're about to ring up and make you pay.

If they have what you want in stock, they have been the best price on the island I have seen so far.

Real thing. I've been buying powder and primers from them for almost two years now. As far as my experiences are, I've never had a problem with them. Then again, Im a fine tooth comb kinda guy, so I've never had to get dicey and try to return something.

I don't know what it is currently but in the past (Powder Valley) it was a $350 flat rate freight / hazmat fee for max 100 pounds for Hawaii. So if you order 100 pounds, add $3.50 per pound. Powder Valley also had a freight / hazmat package by cubes so if you bought a lot of eight pound jugs you would pay around $2.00 a pound if you could fit 400 pounds of powders and primers with in the pallet size.

Excellent question. In most times I would have my own supply of powder and primers and would supplement my supply by buying a pound or two locally as needed. Same for primers, as I used up a brick I would buy a replacement brick at my leisure from a LGS. Most here who know me know I support the local guys even when some were price gouging during the last shortage. So on to your question. I am in a different situation right now. I just moved off island and had to divest myself of the 60+ pounds of powder and 20k+ primers I had in my stock prior to moving. BTW, someone got a hell of a deal as he took most of what I had at one time. A week before my move I got wind that Powder Valley was starting to show out of stock on most of their Alliant powders. Alliant powders are lower cost usually and VERY popular with us oldtimers. So when they showed out of stock I decided I didn’t want to take a chance and I purchased enough Hodgdens powder to keep me shooting for 3 months or more. I didn’t care what the shipping and hazmat fees were due to the shortage that is currently happening.

I bought 8 pounds of powder and 5k primers. BTW, there were no Small Pistol Primers to be had anywhere for sale when I made my purchase. Fortunately, I can substitute Small Rifle Primers for the pistol primers without having to change my recipes. And some of the Hodgens powders I use were out of stock as well. For this order I paid $16 for shipping UPS Ground and $20 hazmat fee. My shipment weighed 16 pounds.

It is all I can afford right now! 

This move is costing me a lot more than we expected. Some of it is due to this Wuhan China Virus. Like having to stay in our hotel for an extra few days because the bed delivery guys can only work 8 hour days now. So the deliveries are backed up. I cannot get cable TV installed into my house until this epidemic is over. All the cable company can do is drop off a router and let me install it. I can then figure out streaming I suppose. Non essential stores shut down.

Want to hear the irony of all of this? Even though stores that sell firearms are considered essential and can remain open. Guess which store chain is closed? Dick’s!!! They stopped selling guns so now they are considered non essential.
