Dicks closing during all of this brings a smile that's ear to ear.
Hope things turn the corner for you over there Inspector.

Thanks! Things are very slowly getting back to normal (as normal as can be for me! ). I just wish I had my reloading gear so I can make ammo during this lockdown period.

If I can remember I’ll take a photo of the Dick’s empty parking lot here in PV. I smile every time I drive by there.

Inspector.   Just got an email from Bruno's, located in Phoenix.  They say they just got in a shipment of Alliant powders and primers.

Thanks again! I read that they are not allowing people into their store. Shipping or curbside pickup only. So I placed an order to be shipped. It’s not worth the drive down if I can’t shop.

They were already out of the 8lb jugs of Unique when I place my order this morning. But the big thing is they had CCI Small Pistol Primers. Those were out everywhere a month or so ago.

Added:
Also checked www.ammoseek.com and they showed only 3 stores with SPP in stock.

I went SEC yesterday. Got some powder, pistol primer
They still had a good supply. They didnt have my first choice for powder but they had my second choice and I can live with that. Sometimes good to try something different
They had 22LR ammo too

Since they were available I also ordered some Alliant powders I have never used before. Been wanting to try them for several years.

Wgs sells their primers for $55 a box. I tried to stop over Roy's today around 2pm,  but they were closed.  Anyone know when Roy's are open?

Not sure but they usually pick up the phone when they're open. You can ask them prices but they won't list off the powders they have in stock. They finally got wise and started staging samples of their powders behind the register rather than having to search their database for what they have in the back warehouse. Two years ago, I bought primers for $24 per 1000. Now they're about $32 a box. I think SEC is about $38 a box.

Thanks,  I will call before I stop by. I think $55 for primers is extremity steep

Thanks Stang! Once my firearms get here I’ll be able to go over them and clean/oil them. Technically some of the ranges here are still open. But for my wife’s sake I’ll stay away from the indoor ones for right now. Just need to build a bench and I can reload again.

Heavies,

I placed an order with them and waited a week. When I login I get a message that says they are shipping same day or next. So when I didn’t get my order after a week I e-mail them Sunday not expecting a response until today. Within a little while I received a response from Amy. She replied to me on Sunday. Needless to say I felt bad for making her work on Sunday but that kind of customer service goes a long way in my book. I will order from them again or better yet make them a stop every time I visit Phoenix.

Thanks!

38$.. 8# would be cheaper at 288 or something they said. But been waiting list on couple lgs for the 8# for awhile now. Yet alone Varget in general which is sold out everywhere. Though, Varget is not the only powder I use. Been trying  to stock up on powders. Got 7# of rl15. 8# of 8208. 5#of TAC. These work well for me. But I’m actually trying to stock up now. Who knows what happens after the elections.

Hey Rod! Don’t know if you saw but I retired and moved back to the mainland. Nice to see you are still actively shooting and reloading.

BTW, Varget is not available much any where over here at this time. But it sells for about $28/pound at my favorite reloading supply mail order place. That’s about a third more for the privilege of living Hawai’i.

If I were still living in Hawaii I would stock up on anything you use while you can. Until things normalize again, it is going to get tight over there.

WHAT!? You moved? I didn’t know that. Well I’m sure you enjoy your retirement. Hey thanks for your help at work and my reloading journey. I learned much. Hope all is well with you and back where you at. Btw, my wife is in remission now. Going strong 1 year since last treatment. Where did you move to?

Rod,

Great news about your wife!!!   I hope she keeps going strong!!!

We moved to Prescott Valley, AZ. So far retirement has been a mixed bag. My wife has taken a couple of bad turns since we moved. Nothing too serious. I just hope it doesn’t get any worse.
